I believe the Kandahar Dex entry that turned into “I became a bad boy” was the one about a boy turning into Kadabra. That Dex entry has confounded fans for the longest time. When I heard that a lot of those early Dex entries were shortened versions of the Japanese ones because of the early game’s limits (Japanese kana can say the same thing in much fewer characters than the English alphabet can so the full things in English didn’t fit) and that the Japanese version says it’s a quote from an in-universe book and that it’s a reference to The Metamorphosis and the same first sentence from that book (I’ve read it but long enough ago I never registered it was the same sentence) it suddenly made sooooo much more sense!
