I've known for a long time now that piracy has done way more good than bad. Like you said, it's promotion. It gives access to art to people who would have otherwise been unable to view it. There are lots of franchises that have made profit off the back of piracy. For example, when My Little Pony blew up in 2011/2012, the adult fan community was primarily watching it through piracy, and when they fell in love with the show, they started spending money on it, buying DVDs, buying movie tickets, buying merch, and even buying cable subscriptions to watch the new episodes legally so that they didn't have to wait for the pirated copies to be uploaded. But it all started with piracy. An even bigger example, however, is the entire western anime market. American studios didn't spontaneously decide to start importing animated shows from a random foreign country with almost no international cultural significance. They made the decision based on the existing interest in such shows, interest that solely existed because of bootleg tapes that were sold and traded around nerd communities. The entire reason anime dubbing is a multi-billion dollar industry today is because of pirates. I find it rather interesting that Nintendo has always been so strict on piracy. The success of the Pokemon franchise outside Japan owes a lot (and maybe everything) to the success of the Pokemon anime, and it's extremely unlikely the anime would have ever been imported if there wasn't already a well-established industry for it. It's not a great leap to imagine that Nintendo's biggest cash cow only exists because of past piracy, yet they still crack down hard on pirates. I don't get it.

I'm guessing there were fr just some time issues that made them not do it although they wanted to. Z-A also is not quite what we imagined Z to be. Or at least it doesn't seem to be, since we don't know anything about gameplay yet. Honestly it's probably for the better, because I'd rather have a game with a yet unknown story and gameplay and all than just another third version

Having Clefairy as your starter in a hypothetical Pokemon Pink would have been waaaaay better than starter Pikachu. First of all, Clefairy has better stats. All Pikachu really has going for it is speed. Now, while speed was kinda broken good in Gen 1 due to the way crits were calculated, I'd still pick Clefairy due to having *much* higher HP and defense as well as better special. Second, Clefairy had a way better movelist, learning all kinds of great TMs. Pikachu was limited to just normal and electric moves, but Clefairy could learn Bubble Beam, Ice Beam/Blizzard, Solar Beam, Fire Blast, Psychic, as well as Thunderbolt/Thunder. Also, Clefairy was only weak to fighting, which was a crappy type in Gen 1, and it could counter that weakness by learning Psychic. Meanwhile, Pikachu was weak to Earthquake, and good luck trying to Bodyslam a Golem.

Very unlikely. First of all, copyright laws are very different and much more lenient in Japan. That's why Jojo's Bizarre Adventure can get away with literally naming characters after bands and songs, but the names all have to be changed for international releases. Second, there is no "Dragonball Z" in Japan; it's all just Dragonball. The separation and distinction between Dragonball and Dragonball Z was a western thing. They figured that western audiences would resonate more with the heavy action of later Dragonball as opposed to the more comedic early parts and released it as a separate show, adding the "Z" to the name to make it sound cooler.

Happens in my friend group constantly. I get excited to sit down and enjoy the game with my friends but by the time I start with them, they're already done with the game and moved onto the next new release. Ex: we all bought sun and moon on release to play together, I took my time as I do with every pokemon game and most of my friends completed the game within 2-4 days; ex 2: we planned out to play Minecraft but then BG3 came out and everyone abandoned the server immediately after about 2 weeks or less of playing... I don't know any of my friends that still play animal crossing, yet I haven't even finished the HHP dlc. It's happened more times than I can list over the last 10 years that I just stopped anticipating games to play with them and only wait to play it alone to get full enjoyment. It just makes me feel bad for being excited and wanting to get my money's worth, cause I know if I set the game down after or before finishing I'll never pick it back up, why make that 60$ last 2-4 days when you can make it last hundreds of hours? I wanna see the world the developers poured hours into to create and admire the work done by the artists! The best immersion is getting lost in the games' world.

I have one friend I know in person and the rest are steam friends I never play with so I can understand. I legit have never played Undertale and was thinking about playing it for a twitch stream whenever I can afford the set up to do so.@@benamisai-kham5892
