It’s not a historical film but the Vietnam series by Ken Burns is absolutely fantastic as a documentary. You hear all the time about how messed up the Vietnam war was but until I watch that documentary I really didn’t understand the scope and challenge of that war. It was absolutely fascinating.

I feel like you should do a _Pocket_ _Guide_ for the Game Boy. And Ian's handheld input would totally be appreciated if so. And side note, I think the cupped pepperoni is also involved in the Detroit style too. Definitely a solid topping.

Seriously, selling collectible games on eBay is a nightmare. I sold about 5k worth of my collection on ebay late last year and it was a near endless procession of whiners and people trying to get one over on you. I tested/ cleaned absolutely everything, took detailed pics and provided in-depth descriptions on every single item, and packaged them like they were familtly heirlooms. I still had 1 out every 5 buyers bitch about something, ANYTHING, to try to get a partial refund or something for free. One guy initiated a return on a flawless GC game bc he said it didn't work, then backed out after realizing he'd have to actually return the game to me first before getting his money back. He literally messaged me saying "so the game doesn't work, but can I keep it anyway and still get a refund?". Umm, how about NO! I had multiple claim damage in shipping, then mysteriously drop the dispute when I insisted on filing insurance claims through USPS. My personal favorite was the guy that bought a non-functional Gameboy, sold as *nonfunctional* in the listing, and wanted a refund bc it didn't work. Really Timmy? The broken Gameboy you bought was *gasp* broken? If only someone had warned you beforehand. I've sold a ton of comics and other items on ebay without much of a problem, so I know its the game buyers in particular who are in a whole league of their own in terms on nitpicking, scummy, belligerent behavior.

The thing about Open Worlds in games is that it has to be done right, with proper care & attention to detail. It adds a significant layer of complexity to a game and thus there are a whole bunch of factors that have to be taken into account and implemented for it to work properly and still be fun. It can be done amazingly, such as with games like Breath of the Wild. Not every area in the game is supposed to be dense with stuff to do, as like in reality there are going to be bleak and barren areas of the world. The game is good at giving a true sense of being a single entity in a giant unforgiving landscape. The music, weather and ambiance of the environment do a great job selling this feeling to the player. Of course, not every game pulls this off well if proper attention & care isn't given to it. An open world game must have plenty of content to discover and interact with within that open world.

Hell, you could do a book that covers both Gameboy and Gameboy Color. I'll be damned if that wouldn't sell! I realize that would be one daunting task to do both systems in a single book due to the sheer amount of games, but that would be something that would sell without question. Do you have any idea just how popular and influential the Gameboy has been & how well it sold? You'd be crazy to think such a book wouldn't sell! Hell, I'd say that it would have more appeal than the craptastic N64. I think the N64 gets FAR more love than it deserves & that most of it is based on Nostalgia Goggles and nothing else. It was not a very good system and did not have a very good library of games, specially when compared to it's closest competitor, the PS1. The PS1's game library absolutely blows the N64 out of the water.

Oh that's a big one right there, ppl criticizing games simply because it's not their cup o tea. I see this happen ALL the freaking time, especially in older magazine reviews. Loads of reviewers never take such a thing into account, more than you might think, and it absolutely causes skewed review scores across the board. It's one of the biggest reasons that you can't always trust "professional" review scores. Anyone who is guilty of doing this has no business being considered a professional reviewer in my opinion.

Sounds like Ian may be having some lag issues with his display. If set up properly, there is no reason why a modern HDTV should have so much lag that it would make a game like Parappa the Rapper unplayable, unless the particular display you're using has insanely bad lag, or you somehow don't know about setting your TV to Game Mode. Just about every modern TV has a Game Mode setting that drastically reduces input lag by turning off any extra image processing. Maybe Ian somehow doesn't know about this? That or his display may just have really bad inherent lag in general, in which case there isn't anything that can be done aside for getting a different TV. Many modern displays have lag in the 15-20ms range, which is absolutely miniscule and equal to about a single frame, not anywhere close to enough to make Parappa the Rapper unplayable. This tells me that something else MUST be going on in his setup that he is unaware of. The RetroTINK itself does not add any lag per se. It's added lag is in the microseconds, small enough to where it can be considered zero for all intents & purposes. However since it linedoubles to 480p, it's possible that his display is just extremely bad at upscaling 480p, as all displays have differing amounts of added lag for each resolution it upscales. It's very possible that his particular display handles 480p very poorly. It may simply be time to get yourself a better scaler that can scale to higher resolutions such as the OSSC, which honestly barely costs more than the RetroTINK 2x these days. That would save you the trouble of needing to get a different display. There's also the RetroTINK 5x which is coming out very soon, although it will likely be more expensive than the OSSC. It should be easier to set up and use though for those who don't want to bother using profiles or setting phase and such for each system on an OSSC. Hope this post helps even a little.

I can assure you Patrick, Wallace was indeed a guy and, he did do "all that stuff". As in he rallied the troops against the oppression of the English and was hunted down and ripped apart for it becoming a martyr to the nationalist cause, even now, when Barcelona gets its independence and we get shafted out of ours by the corrupt "vote no" campaign. Scotland is the only oil producing nation on earth with no oil fund. We have produced substantially more than Abu Dhabi and Dubai, combined. Yet we have fuel poverty to pay for Kings landing/London, etc. We cottoned on though so, in time. But nah don't buy into the whole William Wallace didn't do that stuff, he did.
