Agree. But I know a bunch of men who feel that way. It's like, what did I do now? We go to work every morning and come home to them every night. It's a tough thing to realize. I'm so thankful for my wife. She supports me, builds me up and doesn't walk around like a victim all the time. That's hard to find now days.

Just unbelievable that she's not yet been inducted. However, I haven't researched whether or not she resides in TN. I found out only lately that it is a stipulation of a CM artist. That is the only reason that George Strait has never been inducted. He's always decided to remain a resident of TX. I think this rule is just preposterous.

All marriages have heartbreaking moments. The marriages that last have plenty. But, you HAVE to work it out and keep going. Unless someone beats you or cheats on you-then LEAVE the 1st time they do! Otherwise...you swore to your God and the country in front of many ppl (or a few ppl) you'd love eachother for better or worse until DEATH do you part. All we have is our word. And loving eachother involves plenty of forgiveness and compromise. When you don't consider divorce an option, you stay married Met my husband when we were 20, 15 years later, we've seen our share of struggles, and we have hurt each other because we are not perfect. But if I knew then what I know now, how hard marriage is sometimes, I'd do it all over again. ❤

@@realcanadiangirl64 I absolutely understand and very much appreciate your response. I've been married to a narcissistic bully for 26 years who also happens to be an alcoholic. But my youngest child just finished college so my next step is finding the courage to walk away. Alot of what kept me where I am (believe it or not) has to do with geography. I met him in the Army and moved to his hometown in Arkansas whereas my family is in Massachusetts which is 1,600 miles away

@@rosaliewalker1655 I walked away after 30 years with a narcissist. It's freeing & liberating and I'm finally happy with someone who is invested in me as I am them. Nothing toxic about this relationship. This is your life & your book. You have complete control of the ending. I pray you find the courage to close this chapter and finish your book with your own happy ending. Life is too short to love in misery, feeling broken and alone. May God bless you in whatever you choose to do. ❤️

This is one of those songs that sneaks up on you. I remember hearing it on the radio when it was new and I didn't like it the first few times I heard it. I had recently gone through a painful divorce and this song hit a lot of sore spots. Still, you couldn't deny that this song was speaking to millions of people in this country who were going through something similar to this. I also like how this song presents both sides, it's not just his fault, it's not just her fault. Sometimes things just happen and you just can't figure out how to fix them. I very quickly grew to love this song and I still think it's one of Patty's best. This song is a good companion song for another Loveless hit, "The Trouble With The Truth."

That's what each generation says as it drifts into history. The wish never comes true. Each new generation brings its own styles in to replace the old. At least in this digital age the older stuff we like most is preserved on the www where we can still listen to it as if it never went away. I wish the same could be done for all the hair I'e lost over the years, or the miles I used to run every week. Looks like those are gone forever.

Ms.Miner, I pray that you see this....every single thing I've learned about love tells me I would not need any convincing to help my partner if they needed it. Even if I didn't want to I would still help. You broke my heart, but I would still help you. I never knew love, foster homes didn't teach it so I find it extremely odd that even with my life I still believe in true love. To all who are selfish and narrow minded........if you knew just how much that shit hurt, you'd probably still do it, so I'm wasting my breath. I STILL love you, even tho I don't want to.

This. This right here. This is, in my humble opinion, the reason that country music had and can still have a resonant backbone. This song and many others are examples of country music at its finest, telling real stories of real people that we can all relate to. That my friends is what made country music universal. Kudos to Patty Loveless and Gretchen Peters for, simply put, bringing a masterpiece to life.

No idea how many times I’ve listened to this. It’s true what they say. Country music=3 chords & the truth. In a previous lifetime, my wife and I after 5 years would “talk”, went to see a counselor. Wasn’t getting better. I was reading a book about how to improve my marriage. One day it hit me right between the eyes. The wrong person was reading the book! The opposite of love isn’t hate. It’s indifference. Thanks again Patty.
