I heard this story many years ago but did not know the young lady's name about whom the song was written. Ms. Ayoub may have been somewhat embarrassed by the song in her youth but surely must have embraced it in later years!

Mr.Lande, I am curious. How did you know the true story behind this song? Did you know Paul, Diana or any family members? I was in my second year of college when the song was released and was working during the summer as a life guard at one of our city's swimming pools. There was a juke box at the pool and teenagers were depositing money about every 15 minutes to play the song.

Paul was truly Original !! Paul had a feel like no other artist. He was right there will all of the other Greats for the Birth of Rock & Roll in 1957. This song Diana still sounds great at my live gigs. (pre Covid) .. and it works well on the Cruise Ship gigs as well. My Students love to learn and play this song. If you need it transposed into a different key to make it easier to sing, i can help you with that as well. Little did Paul know that his music would still be sounding fresh 64 years later after it's release. Gotta LOve the Classics.

Paul Anka wrote this for this song for his babysitter. Whenever I hear this song It reminds me of Diana who lived in the apartment under me on Yucca St. in Hollywood back in the late '70s & early '80s. She ended up getting nominated for an Academy Award about 1980 and being costar for a film that is a cult favorite. Haven't seen her in a few years.

Una carica di andrenalina!!! Che bella. Positiva la musica allegra. Eravamo più felici e scrivevano canzoni allegre. Ora meno.

I'm so young and you're so old This, my darling, I've been told I don't care just what they say 'Cause forever I will pray You and I will be as free As the birds up in the trees Oh, please stay by me, Diana Thrills I get when you hold me close Oh, my darling, you're the most I love you but do you love me Oh, Diana, can't you see I love you with all my heart And I hope we will never part Oh, please stay with me, Diana Oh, my darlin', oh, my lover Tell me that there is no other I love you with my heart Oh-oh, oh-oh, oh-oh Only you can take my heart Only you can tear it apart When you hold me in your loving arms I can feel you giving all your charms Hold me, darling, ho-ho hold me tight Squeeze me baby with-a all your might Oh, please stay with me, Diana Oh, please, Diana Oh, please, Diana Oh, please, Diana
