I remember this song when I was a child growing up in the 70s. I went to research how this convoy started and it was due to high gas prices due to OPEC. This song should be the ANTHEM for the new Convoys in Canada and hopefully USA! God Bless our Truckers!

Freedom Convoy 2022 I peacefully stand with the truckers. I'm going to meet them with my sign that says: "If you ate today, thank a trucker and a farmer. If you didn't, thank your government!"

For anyone not familiar with the meaning of the song. It's about a massive convoy of well over 1000 trucks driving from the west coast to the east coast none stop, protesting the increase of oil and fuel, the (55 mph speed limit) and penalties for not keeping correct log sheets

My dad used to take me driving with him, about 3 years ago in his big truck. I finally found the song. He passed away in 2021 after our family vacation and this was one of the songs he played on the ride back. I'm crying, I'm so happy and sad that I found this song.

My dad drove Teamster back in the 70s. When this song 1st came out - he and I sang it duel. He wasn't a Christian (at that time) and I was. We'd get to the part about the 11 Long-Haired Friends of Jesus - and he would hug me and spin me around in a circle! This song is one of my fave memories. I never realized it was written to protest gas prices.

I'm a trucker's daughter. I grew up going on the road with my dad and driving on the highways. I miss the days of the CB radio. if i was lucky my dad used to let me talk on the radio to the other nearby truckers on the highways.
