This is how I imagine Paul Gilbert playing the solo of Pink-Floyds Comfortably Numb. It's actually Pauls legendary solo from "Technical Difficulties" transposed and sped-up to fit the Pink-Floyd backing track, kinda cool for a first take! Enjoy! :)

Yeah but shredders need to play stuff people recognize because they usually don't produce the hits. And putting their spin on the hits is what keeps shredders going for the most part. I want to hear Paul Gilbert destroy black bird by the Beatles. Then I will know it is time to build a catapult in close proximity to a rocky mountainside. 😂

@@DonIsadick-mf3gv Shredding is a tool, as I saw one person say once, it's kind of like swearing. If you do it all the time it's not going to say anything, it's going to be annoying, but if you know how and when to use it, it's going to give a big fucking impact on your solo.

Nice playing, but what makes Gilmour one of the best is his feel and phrasing. He let’s the notes breathe. He’s a sniper not a sprayer. So to beat Gilmour shredding is failure from the start. P.s. he’s just adding runs between Gilmour’s licks.

Perfect example of why more is not always better. The great thing about Gilmour is his economy and impact. No diss here, as that was a great rendition, but the original is perfect as it is, so the bait of "destruction" is far from the truth.

Lmao. This is the solo from technical difficulties played in the key of comfortably numb. Both songs use the same chord progression.
