Paul died after having saved 2 children he did not know from a fire. The mayor of the city sent his representative to the funeral to give his father Fire Patches and a Plaque making Paul an honorary member of the Fire Department. Paul kicked in the door, ran through the flames to the 2nd floor, got the children to the roof, dropped them into the arms of people below, then jumped from the roof, was injured, but he lost his battle to sepsis from the burns he received.
