Adam Carolla

2 жыл бұрын

Adam sits down for a 1-on-1 interview with comedian Paul Rodriguez. Paul shares stories about his upbringing in Compton and recalls meeting Robert Kennedy and Cesar Chavez during the Delano Grape Strike. They talk about Paul's early years in comedy working with a young Gabriel Iglesias and The Unknown Comic. Adam then brings up Paul's recent appearance on Inside Edition- where he stated that he'll never work with Will Smith again. Paul recalls his uncomfortable experience on the set of Ali and getting cut from the film. He shares stories of Will getting angry on set and reads passages from the diary he kept during filming. After that, Paul talks about getting into the entertainment industry and some of his earliest projects. Before they wrap, Adam asks Paul about his son who’s a professional skateboarder.

What a cool guy. Seems very humble and has quite a life. I'm loving the 1 on 1 interviews. Adam is legit one of the better interviewers working today. Relaxed, very conversational, he knows a lot of old references and he can pick up the slack when the guest needs help. My God, he made interviews with Bai Ling and Lou Ferrigno as tolerable as aurally possible.

Europeans learn various languages and can switched from culture to culture. This idea that Mexican Americans should be largely a part of the dominant culture in the US and speak mostly English is a logic fallacy and borders on xenophobic and racist ideologies.

American Hispanic people should hang on to their language and they should speak English. We have to have a common language as Americans for practical purposes. Still we welcome and are enriched by Latino and Chicano culture. The same is true for French speaker or otherwise. Chicano people are our bothers and sisters. I'm glad Mexico and South America are our neighbors and I would take Latinos and Chicanos over most Americans or people from any other country. Preach on.
