Cantona was also probably one of the brightest footballers ever. Never a dull moment, the guy won his share, got bored and left at the top. Not like today’s footballers just carrying on and on for money, brand value, records etc.

Shearer's record of goal-scoring is tremendous and I watched him many times in his early days and later on when he adapted his game due to lack of pace. Cantona was different level. He could do everything and he had a far greater influence on his team mates than Shearer ever did. Cantona was a man who's adoration went far beyond the normal. He is the biggest influence the PL has ever had and is the biggest single reason why the PL went supersonic all around the world!!

Shearer was so scared to join United knew he will always be 2nd to KING ERIC as he can't match therefore he chose Blackburn's money over football for 4 years & then even more money from Newcastle for a full decade.
