Particularly liked Paul Shane not just for the role of Ted Bovis in Hi De Hi, but also the scheming butler Alf Stokes in You Rang M’Lord.

Personal favourite Yellowcoat was Tracey Bentwood. The prettiest Yellowcoat of all in my personal opinion. Played by Susan Beagley. I believe it was season 3 that Susan Beagley took on the role. I remember the episode where they were doing a tarts and vicars theme in the Hawaiian ballroom. She looked absolutely gorgeous in some really nice lingerie as one of the tarts. She was made Sports organiser by Joe Maplins mistress Joan Wainwright for one episode. After that particular episode Susan Beagley left. I personally would have loved her to stay in the series.

Penny Irving who played the Yellowcoat named Mary in seasons 1 & 2. Was mostly famous for her role as Young Mr Graces personal secretary Miss Bakewell in Are You Being Served

Although this version is the better known version, it was originally sung at the beginning of the series run by Ken Barrie. who also sang the Postman Pat theme.

Where did you get this? Great record and piece of memorablia! RIP Paul Shane so fondly remembered! Miss him, been watching the episodes and recording them on sky plus from BBC Two.

Dave david jacklin Linda Reagan played the part of April. She was the one who was always mooning over Spike.

April appeared in the later episodes - Spike also had a girlfriend at the start of the series, but ended the relationship in favour of his job at Maplins.

I remember that the girlfriend Spike had before April was called Brenda, and she wanted to go back to working in the income tax office. I believe the episode was called Sausages Or Limelight as Brenda’s family was quite rich from the Butchers trade.
