He signed hard of hearing which means he has little hearing left. He seemed to be relying on lip reading and signing with his lady. That's why he looked at her. He didn't catch what the guys had said.

@@uncleahmed5043 So, did you know that he signed hard of hearing or do you personally know that the dude was trolling? If it's your assumption that he's playing it off because of the woman laughing that doesn't mean he doesn't have hearing loss. That just means she has a sense of humor dude. She'll just explain it to him when she stops laughing and the camera doesn't care so it'll pan away. Do you have any experience with deaf people? Not in an accusatory way, but just more of a "did you know deaf people have to prove that they're deaf to other people because people just don't believe it" gauging way?

My stepmom was deaf and my dad said this one time and she thought he said something completely different. Paul should have said this, "after the show we should go to K-Mart" can you guess what I said? My dad said this and my step mom thought he said "gay bar" lol 😂 I learned a little bit of sign language from her but she was very good at lip-reading, and by the way it is true that her other senses were definitely heightened because she used to go by vibrations on who was outside the door, I was thoroughly impressed.

He signed he was hard of hearing. Could be from birth, time, work or an accident. Definitely relying on lip reading and sign for most of his stuff so asl is probably his first language

the setup for jokes was fantastic, the pretend def guy gave you an amazing opportunity to really let go and spontaneously invent witty unique comedy. What a let down.... unable to be funny when its handed to you, same as the def guy unable talk with his hands full
