What did you guys think about this episode? I liked it, Paul before he passed tried to talk to Rudeus about the idea of two woman. Now Rudeus has the same problem(more or less) that Paul had at the beginning of season 1. He can relate more to his old man in a way. Also Roxy on DEMON TIME. But let me know what you guys think?

9:00 Just because you've gone astray, it doesn't mean you have to keep walking that road. It'll exact its own price to get back to the right path, but continuing like a promise didn't matter is a worse option in the long run. A promise broken is not a promise annulled. Rudeus himself has over a month to contemplate this. Even if he's broken it, a promise is a promise. 9:20 Roxy's using the interpretation (a valid one, but uncharitable) as an off-ramp for a relationship with the man of her dreams. It can't be helped that he's already taken, but she wouldn't stoop so low as to intrude upon his relationship. Her night with him was a desperate move, with the idea brought up by the party. Usually when an adventurer is down on their spirits, his party members booze him up and take him to a brothel. Not that it's a 100% fix to what he's got going on, but it gets him on his feet and back to working. Elinalise is an expert in that sort of comforting and easing of heartache. When she was asked if she could help, she flatly refused. Since a random girl at a brothel wouldn't be able to help Rudeus and would likely make things worse for him, and Lilia is not even to be considered, Roxy pressured Elinalise as to why she wouldn't help Rudeus. That's when she found out the man of her dreams was married to Elinalise's granddaughter. The others gave up and concluded that he'd get back on his feet eventually. But Roxy knew better and decided to take things into her own hands. 10:55 The whole affair has been a terrible weight on her. She already has body image issues due to her race, she's comparing herself to Rudeus' wife now that she knows she's related to Elinalise, and nobody told her for three weeks the man she was crushing on was already taken, and on top of that she's intruded upon her beloved's marriage. Of course she breaks down in tears when she finally gets to vent about it. 11:10 Yes, he was saying in the book that for the journey he could be her lover. She rejected the idea, not wanting to complicate his marriage any further. Rudeus might be better than he was after the hydra fight, but he still sits at the edge. He needs to get home and he knows he's going home. At the end of the day, all the losses he went through are sad to an almost crushing degree, but he can move forward *without regrets* And there's the worry.

The Anime doesnt convey this, but Roxy pretty much saved rudies life. He was hold up in his room for a many many days, (i think it was a few weeks), not eating, barely drinking. He was withering away, replaying that moment of his pauls death over and over again. No one could get him to do anything no matter how much they tried. Finally one day Geese brings up that when men are like this, sex can bring them out of it, they all agreed but since sylphie wasnt there and they didnt think rudy would feel good about sleeping with a random person in a brothel, they tried to get Enelise to sleep with him but she refused since hes married to her granddaughter. They kept pleading with her to do it to save rudy. They even suggested that Lilia do it, but that got shot down right away. Roxy after much thought decided that if it would save rudy then she would do it. (Also she wasnt aggressive about it like the anime portrays it.) Also Enelise lies at the bonfire and tells rudy that since him and roxy slept together almost 2 months ago, roxy hasnt had her period. Thats the focal point of all this and its what really pushes rudy to try to make roxy his wife. He really didnt want to betray sylphie, and wasnt going to marry roxy. But if she was going to give birth to his child then he was going to take responsibility for it. Anyways, i just wish the anime went deeper into both of these things cuz it kinda seemed like she forced herself onto him for almost no reason, and he wants to marry roxy purely out of selfishness.

5:55 "What's the weird question?" They actually cut it out. He prefaced telling it that it's a fictional story: "Then I told her the tale of a man-a make-believe one, of course. When he was young, terrible things happened to him and he secluded himself. He lived purely on his parents' financial support for decades. Then one day, his parent suddenly died. The man didn't even attend their funeral-no, he did the worst thing a person could possibly do. The other members of his family saw that, beat him senseless, and drove him from his home. Although the man had nothing, he was lucky to find himself reborn in a new world. He turned over a new leaf and began trying to mend his ways. Life was going smoothly and he thought he could be happy if things stayed that way. But then he made a terrible mistake and let someone precious to him die. It was then that the man recalled the death of his parents. Though it was late, he finally mourned their loss. That was the story." He asked what should that man do. He confirmed to Roxy that the man can't even visit the parents' graves or talk to the other family members. Her answer is retained largely intact in the episode. "In that case there is nothing to be done. All he can do is cherish the family he has in front of him." "Even Paul would have wished for you to do the same, Rudy. Please look to the future. Everyone is waiting for you." Roxy is smart, she likely picked up on what Rudeus was telling her. Her answer is IMHO the most moving line in the entire book series. Their night together might've reset him, but Roxy's advice helped him recenter himself for the home journey.
