Hovertravel is a ferry company operating from Southsea, Portsmouth to Ryde, Isle of Wight, UK. It is the only passenger hovercraft company currently operating in England since Hoverspeed stopped using its craft in favor of catamarans and subsequently ceased all ferry operations in 2005.

@@hypercomms2001 Traditional ferries also operate between the mainland and the Isle of Wight. Hovercraft offer speed.

the british contribution to transport was the hovercraft but its not really practical.

Hovercrafts were the western competitor to ekranoplans as the dumbest means of transportation.
