Wowee Zowee was the first Pavement album I ever listened to back in 2010 and it got me hooked. Now I listen to Pavement more than anyone else and am constantly blown away by how great you guys were.

Malkmus’ solo career has been just as great. At times even better than his time in Pavement.

Kung Flu I love it cuz it was my introduction to pavement, I knew about them but never really got into their music that much. Then one day I was at a CD store where I saw a copy of terror twilight and thought album art was really cool, decided to buy it and it played on loop in my Volvo for weeks cuz I fell in love with it. SMs guitar in that whole album is amazing

I agree, I liked Terror Twilight a lot better than their predecessor 'Brighten the Corners' which is my least favourite Pavement album. I think Terror Twilight is very consistent and has a lot of great songs like Platform Blues, The Hexx, Billie, Folk Jam, ...

Totally with you! I loved Slanted and Crooked at the time, but it's Wowee and Brighten that lodged in my head. They're the ones I go back to, even now 2+ decades later...

I found Pavement back in 94 when they got played in both 120 Minutes and Alternative Nation. I was 15. Loved Crooked Rain. When Wowee Zowee came out I dug it but music magazines were trashing it. I didn’t get why they would. Well, it’s stood the test of time and those same publications and other contemporary ones are now praising it. Was supposed to see Malkmus for the fourth time live when this pandemic crap hit and possibly the Pavement 2020 reunión in the summer. Fingers crossed for soon.

"Wowee Zowee" est mon album préféré de Pavement tout comme "A Ghost is born" est mon album préféré de Wilco. Dans les 2 cas, je ne pense qu'ils soient leurs meilleurs albums mais ils sont singuliers, bizarres, hétéroclites en surface mais avec une réelle unité dans leur profondeur. Il y a dans "Wowee Zowee" quelque chose de sombre, de menaçant et l'on sent une complexité dans la personnalité multi-facettes de Malkmus... Quelqu'un de très intelligent... De divers bien que très unifié. Sacré bonhomme ce Malkmus... Comme David Freel, autre très riche personnalité...
