U can make It "harder" by coloring 2 bishop,horses,towers in black and then follow the turn rule. So u have to move a White piece First then u cant move the pawn but a black piece

@@xiaomi10a65 I mean, it just says get the pawn to the red square using standard chess moves. A queen is as much a pawn as a knight is so technically all answers are wrong. But ranking up to knight should be perfectly legal.

@@flying_gorilla8069 The whole team gets wiped out and you have to find all the pieces back to make your new army. You get to draw your own chess pieces and choose how it moves, and when you find pieces you can use little cards of theirs to move your OC piece like that one.

Yeah the red square is 2 knight moves away from the opposite corner, you'd just have to clear the space out then hop over.

Right, it takes only 8 moves after knight promotion. 1- move the bishop over to empty pawn square. 2- Move night to bishop square, 3- then move the other bishop to knight promotion square.. 4-7 are just rook moves to empty the last square (each rook moves once) 8- knight move to destination square

it's actually very easy to put a pawn on the red square WITHOUT changing it to queen, that's because when you "promote" a pawn, you can change it into any piece, and i mean ANY piece, of ANY COLOR TOO, you promote your white pawn into a black pawn, and now that it is a BLACK piece, it moves backwards from the white side, so now the black pawn can also eat white pieces, so you just make a staircase to the red square making the pawn move diagonally with every capture and badabing red square reached with a pawn🗿

It is possible. I stopped counting my moves at 100. I'm sure I didn't do it the fastest way, but it was probably about 220 moves.

@@Wence42 that was about how many it took me on the first go. Once you understand how to do it once it'll take less than 40 2nd time. Try changing to a rook instead of queen. Possible and both are 10xs harder. I almost gave up no lie.

Why rearrange the board? It can be beat using the starting formation. Just capture to the other side, promote to rook, and beeline it to get to red in 8 moves

Seems pretty obvious you can't capture pieces of the same color. At that point, just move the pawn over to the other square and say you solved it in one.

@@Hexensohn the rules say “standard chess movement”, not “standard chess rules”. Therefore, you can solve it by ignoring the standard rule of being unable to capture your own pieces.

@@hotelroom404That's an incredibly pedantic interpretation of what are pretty clear and obvious rules. And no, the Queen can't capture the pieces either obviously, it's just a style/design choice. If no other reason is acceptable, the fact that your solution is so straightforward is reason enough for capturing to be clearly illegal.

I imagine the puzzle doesn't have a knight for you to promote to. Either that, or maybe there's a rule with it somewhere that specifically forces a queen promotion, but that wasn't mentioned
