On the face of it, it didn’t seem to be too high. But if there are no buyers that’s simply they way the market works. Seems a shame though but with literally millions of these magazines printed and thousands upon thousands saved, (look in grandmas attic) this low evaluation seems reasonable. Still, very cool for sure and would make an excellent talking point if framed and put up in the entryway of your house. The “story” of the object has a value that exceeds the price, (plus the subject opens up conversation). I’d spend $200 for a frame and another $100 for the magazine easily.

I think the asking price is in reference to the item...a periodical. Much the same as newsprint. Not always rare, not always valuable.

The exception is if an author autographs a very limited edition or small batch publication such as a chapbook or zine or pamphlet; for example, such signatures and doodles by Charles Bukowski still command a high price.
