I am passionate about our history and the preservation of heritage. It is vital that detectorists comply with all laws including Heritage Act 2017 that protects historical cultural heritage sites and artefacts. In Victoria it is an offence to disturb historical archaeological sites or remove artefacts from sites. Make sure you understand all applicable laws before commencing detecting activities.

So here’s a tip for the magnet, put it in a 2lt bucket and tie the rope to the handle. Once you have lots of steel on it, lift the magnet out of the bucket and all the metal falls away. I clean up nails and screws all the time and drop the metal into a 60lt wheelie bin.

That is a fantastic suggestion @Jeff Holmes you would think with the amount of time wandering this paddock I would have thought about doing that too👌 I will be interested to give it a shot in future now mate. I just need another paid detecting job and a super trashy paddock to work😉 cheers heaps mate👍⛏️

Good morning Luke! If you had asked me before this job even come up, if I would watch a video about someone detecting star pickets, I probably would have said, "Not likely, what would be interesting about that" Well I suppose it has something to do with the company im keeping whilst viewing, you seem to have a knack of keeping it interesting regardless of what your hunting, and joining in on a Friday evening with yourself and the great crew that gathers together always makes it a worthwhile experience, and here I am, on a Saturday morning rewatching the vid to see what I missed, you must be doing something right! They say variety is the spice of life, and your videos are a large jar of, All Spice! Good on you Luke! Cheers Mate!

Good morning there @wayne armstrong thanks heaps again for watching along with us on the past 7 rounds mate. What a ride it's been too😆 I never thought myself that I would be putting out seven videos of hunting star pickets and random rubbish...and not even a coin to show for it either😆 But it sure was alot of fun to share the adventure mate🙂 Friday nights are always well waited for that's for sure and now we are finished at Francos, we can get on to sharing what's next👌 Cheers heaps again Wayne, I hope you manage to get out for a swing and enjoy this weekend mate🙂🤝👍⛏️

@@DigItDetecting Well, at the moment I'm sitting outside the local tip waiting for it to open, 18 min to go, exciting stuff, I recently had my ext hard drive crash and lost over three years of recorded hunts, along with heaps of other stuff, I'm hoping that a video I made for a permission owner is still in existence, and will try to get a copy made. Otherwise, I'll just keep recording and hoping to find some equally good finds to start again, You did find a nice horsey though, nice relic! did you work out what it is, Ive got no idea! There's movement at the station, Almost time to dump and run. Have a top weekend Luke, Cheers!

Great stuff @wayne armstrong I really hope you enjoy mate. The little seahorse thing turned out to be I'D as part of a Fire poker set too mate. Such a cool piece and definitely a keeper for future display. I best get going to. A family day hunting an old camp site today and I even conned Helena into coming along for the ride😆😎👍 Take care until the next man👍

You need to get a magnetic sweeper about a metre wide. This is on wheels you just pull it around and it has a magnet release to drop off all your iron pieces into a heap.often used to clean up an area to then go over the ground with a detector for gold.

I did consider making something up to sweep these two trashy areas clean @Laurie Boyle exactly like they use in W.A to help clear the ground for gold hunting. We did the best thorough job we could though and picked up on the main items...the stakes😁 Thanks heaps for watching👍👍⛏️

Most definitely a big job uncovering all those stakes @Lynette Morgan and walking a marathon whilst at it too😆 All good fun though and money in the bank helped pay those bills.
