I love how most “strategies to counter the XP-50” in these comments require the XP-50 pilot to be inexperienced/make big mistakes

There was only one XP-50 ever produced. It crashed into Long Island Sound on it’s 15th test flight due to a turbosupercharger explosion and was lost. It was made as a land based version of the XF5F Skyrocket, And it was made as a backup to the XP-49. (beefed up P-38) Funny that the backup failed before the former, huh. As for it being lost… It still hasn’t been found. I combed the internet for search efforts, and I found one. I contacted the person searching for it, and they said their next search is scheduled for May 2023. However, They said that in a 4 mile line of searching with a sonar device, they found 38 sunken vessels and whatever. So, I believe that the XP has been crushed under a sunken vessel since the 80+ years from it’s loss.

Matchmaker loves to pit you against these when you fly the Swedish planes. And it's just completely hopeless.

Unfortunately, the only way to counter an Xp-50 is for them to be bad… a good xp-50 simply will not die. Ever. I still advocate for it to have its airspawn removed. It will still be above things anyways, just not 2km above going 400km/hour.

The amount of toxicity a XP-50 can bring is the same equivalent of 2 nukes in Japan. It's nuts

My biggest gripe with XP-50 is the fact it's getting spammed during events/operations. An enemy team, with atleast 2-3 XP-50s, casually killing off any friendly bombers. Only way how to counter it, is to make the other player to dive and distract him enough, for a friendly to take him down. It's stupidly OP for its BR, and while a fun vehicle overall, it's broken. One can't outrun, outclimb or outturn that pile of concentrated P2W.

I hate the xp-50. I hate it so much I won't even capitalize it.

My strategy (1v1, no else around to 3rd party) in the p63 or similar is to let them feel like a God being above you but lure them into matching your energy in a shallow dive. If they're even just slightly inexperienced this helps a great deal to counter it already. If their energy is much greater, you can reverse them although this shouldn't be the first thing you do.

Yesterday I had to fight a 4 man squad of xp50s in my spit. Luckily they all tried turnfighting everyone they saw so we ended up winning but for a moment I was trying to solo 2-3 of them at the same time which wasn’t fun at all lol. But honestly I think the su11 is more broken. There are atleast some planes that can counter the xp50 like the j2m, but the su11 will stomp any plane(short of a f84g) in an uptier, and in a downtier the su11 gets to fight props

I found most effective way to fight them is to use Swedish T-18 playing as heavy figher. So satisfying shooting them down, especially one time 3 of them, with 2 from same squad to boot

the worst part of this plane is how enjoyable I find 4.0 props if there isn't somebody in an xp-50. Like I love flying my 109 F4 or G2 or early p51s but this thin just ruins you

I find that the premium Japanese 109 e7 is quite cheesy at 2.3 as well. It can clap bombers at its br with a short singular burst

The AAA in biplane matches is an absolute scourge. So many players just die to AAA at the start of the match.

The climbing is really just insane! I now really want it. (Even tho I don't play USA... at all) I was testing this plane, and I went AFK, because I have sucsessfully spilled out my tea, and when I went back at my testing, it was very high... like thousand of kilometers high.

One time I was like a kilo and a half above an XP-50, and he started climbing up at me to shoot at me. Admittedly, I made the mistake of not spiral climbing and making him stall, and instead dipped down towards him and dove on him. He immediately turned his nose vertically up towards me, and we killed each other in a head-on. He then started complaining in chat that I head-on'd him.

This plane is the sole reason I stopped playing props, because if the pilot knows what he's doing you can't do jack shit against it.

I bought this back in December when it was half off, I didn't realize how strong it was compared to other planes.

Favorite strat for playing my halifax, fly with my bombs enjoy life, see 3 xp50s, go full 180, fly as far away from the combat area as possible. Of course being xp50 players they only chase me whole game. Waste their time as much as possible then rip my wings and deny them a kill. Just gotta waste their fun

It definitely needs a nerfing and/or BR increase. Update: I downed an XP-50 in a lowly half-spaded Chinese Tony shortly after watching this video because I caught him at the bottom of of zoomin' on someone. So giddy I didn't even mind getting bounced by a P-51 seconds later.

Trying to grind the Finnish line rn with the 109s is literally hell. So many of these things. The only thing I can counter these with is the T18 and abuse the bomber spawn to get above them.

The XP-50’s downsides would be it’s a pretty big plane (twin engine) and can be easily set on fire, as well as burning up. At least in my experience However most XP-50s I meet are either decent or one of the dumbest players I’ve ever seen.

I bought this thing a long time ago and for some reason I just don’t play it. It’s definitely an amazing grinder but I just love my P59 more than anything lol.

I hate fighting XP-50s more than Su-11, A10s or Su25. Having to take care of all aspect missiles isn't that much different from rear aspect ones, if anything people might waste them more often. Su-11 is faster and can get 2km above you by pointing the nose up, but it's something it does against somewhat capable planes most of the time. The XP-50 however, with it's BS flight model (irl it had stats roughly on par with some Bf110s...) can get above you despite side climbing and what-not after it already dived once for a free kill. And in props, that thing can dive on you at 600km/h+ while you're trying to climb at 300~, meaning it impacts the way you play on a strategic level unless it's flown by a very bad pilot. If a Su-11 stall climbs 2km above you, it still risks getting collected by someone else quite easily. (And it's still disgusting)

Mid map aa just part of gaijins money plot, I mean, with how high repair costs are, the aa shoots down the plane, then they have to pay sl, so then they buy a premium so the repair cost is small 😄

This reminded me how glad I am mid-map AA got nerfed, it feels SO GOOD to not get my oil/water insta-sniped 3 minutes into the match, assuming they didn't just delete my pilot before that -- now that almost never happens.

I got this a year ago when I got it 50% of and I choose to use this to shot down bombers. I know i will get hate for this but I love this plane slot because it is the easiest plane to get killed with in 4.0 in my opinion

Mid map aaa sucks ass so much, it doesnt even defend stuff from ground attacks. It's just a random diceroll basically if you get to keep flying. I had matches where I had 3 kills and havent been hit once and some dude on a bofors beams me from 3km away and puts holes in every tank on my plane. "Just avoid aaa" How ?! it's everywhere it has crazy reach, you can only pray that rng doesnt kill you.

Its roll rate is kinda mid folks so if you can half competently defensively fly in something that does or your halfway okay at snap rolling with your rudder you can get away with forcing the overshoot, it's also pretty fragile so even 7.7s hurt it pretty bad

You can climb at 25°. You have guns with laser accuracy, all in the nose. You can outdive 95% of what you face even in an uptier. Heck, you can even outturn most planes. You can boom and zoom anything all day long. You can put the throttle at 99% and never overheat (gotta love the modelling on that). The only thing that limits the amount of kills you will accumulate is the low ammo on the 20s, you will usually win before you can rearm. It's extremely toxic, you teammates will hate you just as much as the enemy does. It also unlocks the entire US plane tree up to rank6 in about 10 days. Flying it reduces IQ exponentially and shrivels up parts of your body that arent YT friendly. Definitely buy it if its on sale. If you own it, try not using the airspawn and starting 5 minutes late. You will still be the highest plane.

I tried grinding Germany 4.3 to hopefully get to 5.7 where i am right now but im completely stumped because literally every match im in has at least 1 of these planes with a level 100 in it. There's usually multiple but i just don't even really care at this point. I've given up playing fighters at that br. All i do now is bomb one base, die and repeat until i get a plane that can hold it's own against it.

Was flying out my new Pyörremyrsky yesterday to learn it and print some SL. Lost all dignity because I got relentlessly raped by an XP-50 squad two times in a row. Well if you can't beat them... guess I'll fly my XP-50 today. (Pyör should counter the XP-50 quite well because of low speed performance. Need to get better with it)

Someone help me out here; I need to see if I get this right. If a BF 109 F-4 makes it in your game , at the BR 4 level, then he can out climb you. He is also faster. Correct>? or wrong ? From what I see in the numbers , in the game menu.

The XP-50 is absolutely pay to win. I'm trying to grind out German air vehicles and nothing can compete with this stupid little low tier menace. I've checked everything up to jets and this plane beats them all in every category

I swear to god the xp50 is the bane of my existence. Even when they're on my team the people that play the xp50 divebomb from space steal every kill in a 30-mile radius. There is also no reason a plane that's max speed is 700kph... is at 4.0 the first non-premium Russian plane that even gets close to 700kph is at 6.7 and it doesn't make it better than it has an amazing turn time and climb rate WITH AN AIR SPAWN. I really hope that warthunder nerfs this plane because it has been an absolute nightmare to play air realistic at 4.0 but I know warthunder will never nerf it because it makes them tons of money.

I love fighting this plane, most of the people who use this thing tend to think they are beyond everybody in skill and tend to die when they dive on a target and attempt to climb in a straight line before getting distance

So I bought this and it’s like every other plane that you pay for with me at least. You absolutely dominate your first round. I think I got eight kills and then I played about 15 since then and I’ll get like one or two if I’m lucky I can’t outrun anything even if I’m 70. Mack. And I will dump my entire payload directly on Target and I won’t even get a critical hit, but they’ll turn around and shoot me down with one round.
