PAYDAY 3 Update 5 is a Fortunate one

Update 5 for PAYDAY 3 comes with some new gameplay features, skill changes, a new armor type and a new skill line. Although this isn't the big update to "bring players back", I thought I'd still cover it as overall this is a VERY good update which will contribute to a positive future for PD3, and just let people know what's packaged in with this update for those who are either looking to hop back in, or for those who are sitting on the sidelines waiting for the right time.

The new armor alone has made the game far more fun to me. Don’t gotta worry about deploying an armor box, using it, going to do the objective and coming back to the armor box being destroyed by a cloaker

I liked the update a lot as someone whos still playing semi-regularly, but it really isn't substantial enough to get even inactive payday players to come back, nevermind new players. I was hoping for quickplay to be added in this update to make getting into matches easier but, in starbreeze fashion that was delayed until update 6. Still, I was able to get into lobbies with friends fine without seeing that dreaded Nebula Data Error, and had a blast tonight. Definitely looking forward to update 6 and boys in blue. Great video anyways!

I wonder if their update model is gonna be half gameplay and balance changes and the other half is gonna be ui and menu element changes since last one was more focused on the menu and this focused on weapons and skills

I came to find out how I could unlock this armor because it says level 26, and I'm level 51 at launch. I came back for the dlc and am now returning again after hearing that there are improvements

I'm just waiting for a new heist, but I'm concerned that this padding to our player ability to survive for longer periods will result in the same blotting Payday 2 started to suffer from. It was clear from how weapons, armor, level design, and challenges (if you had the skill to actually read them) that getting out with your loot as fast as possible was the name of the game. You were not really meant to run around doing hours of tasks, hunting for packages to get attachments, or hiding in the bathroom with nominal amounts of weapon xp. And now that we have a bit more longevity I'm worried that more bloat will get added to the time resulting in just long slow heist like payday 2. It was fun, but heist getting to the point that they were as long as Destiny Raids got exhausting.
