You are right about Civil engineer paid less in USA, I think it's same everywhere even in India. Too many cost involved in completing a civil project, a little left for Salary.

I'd be going to Purdue of CPM next fall. Taking the worst scenario, i'd be back in India after 5 years due to visa. Won't I be able to save a lot and come back to india and start with something good in here??

I have been doing internships at big contractor firms such as Shapoorji, Masters PMC, Simplex...the staff over there says that life is hell in India on basis of Work time and Pay. The max pay that a Project Manager can have in India maybe range in 1 lac to 1.5 lac and that too after many years of experience. So it's better to pursue your career in USA with better Pay, exposure and job time

I think a big point to consider here is, if we are repaying loan amount in 5 years or 8 years or even in 10 years, the salary will increase in those 10 years, too. If someone is paying 20-25% of his monthly salary in loan repayment, he/she will still pay the same percentage (or probably more) if their salary doubles in years.

You won't be in US for 5-10 years..at Max 6 years and you should be able to pay your loan in 3 years time

Yes, It doesn't make sense to go with a costly University but to reduce costs we might have to choose a university where location is a disadvantage.... So how to weigh location vs costs? Where one should incline towards in general... and yes Thanks for your videos!

please make a video on average case scenario because on georgia tech MS in CS costs about 20K USD for !st year so it will be about 30k - 35k total fees . so its will be a different scenario overall!

Thank you for this video. Now i have one question and if possible please help me. If i get admit from csueb which tuition fees is $15,557/year, hostel fees is $18,000/9 months and health insurance fee is health insurance fee is $ 1,410/year. So should i accept it and take admission or wait for some other universities admit?

Hey Parth, Been watching a lot of your videos lately. I got an admit from BU, but their program is a three semester one and costs around $120,000 (including cost of living). This also includes the internship period, but a lot of people have told me people with work ex are not preferred for internships and it's extremely hard to get one. I have close to 3 years of full time professional experience and won't be able to fund the expenses for a program costing $100,000 or more without support. Can you please share your views on whether getting internships is actually hard for people with work ex or not?

Generally top universities have higher fees. At the same time, they have advantage of providing better job prospects after graduation. Wordly recognized companies like Amazon, etc will come to Uni. like Columbia bcoz. of Univ. ranking and will give higher salary. Therefore, do you think getting into top ranked uni. at higher fees is not better?

Parth, thanks for all your videos. I recently started watching them, and many of them are quite helpful. I had a question: I am planning on going for a Spring admission to the US for a M.Eng. in Civil and Env. Since I have a Bachelor's in Mech (from Drexel), and I basically suck at sciences, I didn't want to delve into pure environmental engineering, so I am going for a mix. In your experience, is this something new, or are there jobs perhaps in urban planning, water resource planning, sustainable infrastructure etc.? How do I do field specific narrow job search?

You haven’t included taxes that you will be deducted from your intern/coop earnings . Like 28$hr which comes to something around 4400$ a month would be before taxes .

What about the Life science sector, i mean biotechnology? Because I got accepted to a university with a scholarship and that makes the tuition fee like around $28000 for two years excluding the living expenses.
