Beautiful job on the trees and you're right it was totally worth it. Stuff looks real on your layout. I see a lot of layout where you can tell they've made a nice model, but your terrain looks real. The hillsides with the dirt and rocks is amazing.

300 hours on just one structure, changing things to make better what is already better than most, and adding new stuff. Years of work, and hopefully never quite done. The life of a dedicated modeling artist. You rank in the small group of gold standard model builders, I'm quite envious. ;-)

Thank You Robert!! The Payless has been a 27 year project that started out to be just maybe 1 module. Now its 6 going on 7 and I just cant seem to stop, its too much FUN !!

Rich. Love your work on your modules. You are a true artist. It all flows so nicely. Who ever you get to do the video is a lucky guy cause there’s no way you can take a bad shot of your layout. That’s many many years of work and I’m so glad you’ve shared it. It’s been an inspiration to me. I’ve just gotten back to the hobby a year ago. I’ve started an HOn3 layout with some old brass and kits I’ve kept since the eighties but your modules have had me thinking of On30. I even had to buy one of your gas station kits which came just last week. It’s really nice. I’ve got a few old Thomas Yorke kits in HO. I had a couple of his O scale kits from the eighties but sold them in the nineties. Your buildings and castings are just as nice. I wish I would’ve started back in the hobby sooner but I’m going to do the best I can with the time I have. Keep up the great work. Like I said your an inspiration.

Thank You Jim for the kind words regarding the Payless!! Tom Yorke was an inspiration to me back in the early eighties and I to purchased some of his kits. Hope you enjoy building the Gas Station kit, I have it one on my mount Bullion module and Its one of my favorite kits. I think that you will really enjoy On30 scale, its a really FUN scale to work in and as my videos show you can really pack a lot of railroad into small spaces. It's Never to late to start something new!!! Thanks again for the kind words as its always a blessing to know that people enjoy ones work! Rich

Thanks, I have been trying to find the time to do a detailed layout sketch of the modules but with my O-Scale kit business and working on the Payless its been hard to find that time.

Rich, just came across your channel, and wow, or should I say WOW!. These modules are beyond exceptional, the details are superb, the amount of hours you've spent scratch building the structures has paid off. How you have less than a 500 subscribers blows my mind, you deserve far more. Will be spending the day catching up on your content. Looking for the vid where these modules are put together. How do you even come up with a track plan for these is amazing. All the best, Merry Christmas to you n yours. Brian @The Angels.

Rich , you walk among the gods of model rail roading. Thanks for sharing. I salute you. I also love on30, . Rich , about that porter problem, have you considered dead rail society...might be a simple solution to electronics on a layout. Love your layout.

Thanks phibber, Glad you enjoyed the Payless!! I have had some time to fool around with the porter. I took the little bugger apart and found a very bad connection on one of the power wires. Repaired it and it now runs with the sound back, but some of the functions are a bit scrambled. I will keep fooling with it and am sure she will be in tip-top shape real soon!!! Thanks again! Rich, Great work !! Do you take this layout to train shows in your town or does it stay in your garage for own enterainment.

Thanks Ronnie, with 6 different modules its a lot to haul around so it mainly stays safely in the garage.

That Mill is IMPRESSIVE!!! Some of us are newer to your Channel, and HAVEN'T heard the Mill sounds..... You've reminded me - if I can EVER get back to my Layout... I'm sure a lot of my Folage needs help. It's been 8 years since I last worked on it. Like the Davenport. Is there room for a Keep-Alive in those things?? I don't run anything without it. ESPECIALLY an 0-4-0!! 😳 Carmine ✈🚂🚙
@richwhite4331
@richwhite4331 4 жыл бұрын
Thanks PoorMan, The Payless actually has about 6 different sound modules scattered in different places and they really bring the layout to life when they are all on!! I am still looking for 2 or 3 more for the Mount Bullion Modules.
@richwhite4331
@richwhite4331 4 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure? I did put a Keep-alive inside of my Railbus but with my track being so "funky" I still have problems with it losing contact. I am not sure if you can even get the Davenport with sound? There is not a lot of room in the lil bugger.
@CarminesRCTipsandTricks
@CarminesRCTipsandTricks 4 жыл бұрын
@@richwhite4331 Definitely not a lot of room! Maybe a non sound K/A, like a KA2?

Hi, I have three Davenport's two with sound, two 0-4-0's, one with sound, and six 0-4-2's, four with sound, and of the lot four have keepalives in 'em. Where there's a will, there's a way ! No matter how good your track is, keepalives will help. An 0-4-0 needs all the help it can get with only 4 small points of contact ( and their light weight doesn't help either ). Great Hobby, love your modules Rich ! ... Thanks, George
@CarminesRCTipsandTricks
@CarminesRCTipsandTricks 3 жыл бұрын
@@georgemeyer8521 You're right George, where there's a will, there is a way. Since this comment, I ground out some of the weight in the Tank, to make it fit! Then I got adhesive Lead weights (real Lead, not the "friendly" Steel weights), and crammed it anywhere it would fit, even along the inside of the Roof.

@richwhite4331

The Pines are made out of a dried flower called Caspia. You can find it on line and it comes in a number of different shades of green. The trunks are just hand carved out of Balsa wood.
