‘PC crap’: Jerry Seinfeld blasts the ‘extreme left’ for trying to ruin comedy

Comedian Jerry Seinfeld has slammed the “extreme left” for being detrimental to comedy on Saturday.
Seinfeld appeared on the New Yorker Radio Hour podcast alongside host David Remnick.
While on the podcast, Seinfeld spoke about his new film ‘Unfrosted’ and the changing norms seen in modern comedy.
During the discussion of how comedy has changed, Seinfeld spoke about the need and importance of comedy in television.
“Well, guess what? Where is it? Where is it? This is the result of the extreme left and PC crap and people worrying so much about offending other people,” he said.

Complaining about not being able to find 40+ year old programs on television despite them being available is an issue with ignorance or personal mental health. Jerry is old and sheltered and obviously doesn't know how to navigate technology to find exactly what he thinks has been "removed" This is the equivalent of saying "using a remote control is PC woke crap"

Woke has not won over comedy or comedians, they just get a lot of criticism. Bill Burr and Dave Chappelle are funny as hell, and call out bullshit unabashedly at times. Thin skinned hyper sensitive people who can't take a joke and whine about everything not only do not make the world a better place, they can ruin all the fun in life. Anyway I feel where you are coming from and the negative woke influences out there, but don't give up on comedians!

That's one of the things about any mindless trend, you never think you're one of the people participating in it. "I'm not one of them. I agree with the sensible parts, but not the stupid extremes" - it's always somebody else's fault. These people don't understand that agreeing on the sensible parts is what _enables_ the stupid extremes to happen; trends are the product thousands of people individually making the same judgment without thinking about the consequences, and thus making that one way of looking at the world so banal and accepted that the extremists now have a platform to act crazy. That's how zealots get power, via the slippery slope; they build the seemingly innocent homogenized, lowest-common-denominator ideas first, then springboard off of that.

Comedy is such a vital part of my therapy. Jerry, George, Elaine and Kramer have taken me out of the " s@#$s" hundreds of times. Seinfeld has given me the ability to laugh at ourselves, to not take life so seriously. Thanks Jer'. Thank God for people like Jerry and now Jim Gaffigan. 😊😊😊

High criticism from a super edgy comedian like Jerry, the Lenny Bruce of the senior home circuit. He must not understand how his hard core jokes about cereal and superman might have trouble getting through the filter. Let's not forget that Jerry Seinfeld still supported and made apologies for the racist, his friend Michael Richards (Kramer) after he made that very racists comments on stage and some people, obviously on the left held it against him for being friends and socializing with a racist. He didn't like it then when most people, again on the left called him out about it. Because the majority on the right are racists and wouldn't call him out. Now he's still (appropriately at the right racists time in America) upset with the left. It's obvious that a lot of comedians, left wing podcasters and news channels are grifting towards the right because they pay extremely well to here some on the left say things that they want to hear. Seinfeld is so detached from reality he thinks comedians can't be funny anymore because of a "woke" chokehold on the comedian community. I've never heard more vulgarity, racial commentary, social satire, political rants and generally anti-social "jokes" from stand-up comics and TV comedy shows than we have now. (Most of them not funny, so the real problem is unfunny comedians, not a woke agenda.) I guess poor Jerry just can't handle being called out for a lame, reactionary comment about the "woke" cancelation he believes is so toxic. Comedians like Jerry were not funny in stand-up with stale jokes before, but now he's complaining on behalf of other comedians? It sure isn't Jerry S presenting jokes worthy of canceling.
