Great Action adventure game by Interplay back in 1993. It plays out like a collection of episodes. This is the CD version with full speech.
I really dislike the Action part of the game where you have to fight enemy ships. Sometimes it can be a real pain, especially at the end of the game. I have had to restart an Amiga longplay of it due to the final fight being too difficult. I'm hopeing starting from scratch and aiming for 100% will help it.
Speaking of 100%, I have attained to get just that in this longplay. That pretty much means looking at and scanning everything which helps to make the longplay.....long! as the game can probably be played in 30-40 mins if skipping dialogue and just running through the mission, but I bet the final fight is then impossible. It also means I was not able to mess about or getting my red shirt into trouble so a little of the fun factor is missing in this video.

I bought the 1st.(not CD enhanced) version 28 years ago. It came on twelve 1.44MB 3.5 inch floppies. it took 6 hours to install on my 286 12 MHz PC.

Great game! It actually felt like watching season 4 of the original Startrek. So nice to hear voices of Nimoy, Shatner, Kelly and others!

@@Green-Raccoon777 IKR. The post-series games were the final two seasons of TOS had NBC continued it. In fact, they serve as prequels to the post-series films of TOS from 1979-1991.

To this day, I don't know if there's any other game that quite captured that "playing in an actual Star Trek episode" feeling quite like this one and Judgment Rites did.

I love the Two different dialogue options where one Kirk is a jerk and the other is nice and curious. It’s like that what he really wants to say but he stops himself

the fact that the real (now legendary) cast did the voices is priceless at it's own for the fans, whether like this genre or not. Personally been a fan back then got this on my amiga when it was released (w/o voices) and much later got the pc cd version and was even happier.

Some of Shatner's lines are hilarious. What makes it even funnier is Shatner's comedic abilities that I never knew about until Fresh Prince and Third Rock

I had the version from the Interplay's 10-year Anniversary CD so I'm more used to hearing the Adlib synthesized sounds. This CD version seems to be the version we really needed.

In the Harry Mudd mission it's possible to bring up an image of the extinct aliens when having Spock and McCoy access the spheroid computer bank.

The voice casting is priceless. If I had the skills, I’d take the dialogue and create all new Animated Trek episodes. These basically should be considered real episodes since they got everyone on board to voice it.

This was the FIRST PC game I ever purchased for my 386 that I built myself. No audio like this CD version, but it was HARD to figure out! I don't remember if I ever finished it, as that was almost 30 years ago. I actually just played it again on the old PC games website, reload. I was surprised they had it! Despite what Bialbi says, Vlict is still doomed. He will have to somehow explain why Hrakkour is no longer accessable to the Empire, why the Empire will not see any military-industrial and economic output from Hrakkour, and all without a scapegoat.

Oh i remember it so well, when i played this and heard their voices. They were in my pc! As a little boy, i was so damn happy. But the last fight gave me really nightmares. I think, that it took me 2 weeks or so to win it.

Never did finish this game back in the day. I didn't know which star was what, so I ended up warping somewhere and getting ambushed by romulans or something. I think I got stuck at the fourth mission.

JelchKaTlen Which, according to Scott Manley is a way of the copyright of the game. So its intended that you get messed up badly and have no clue where to go.

Yes, there was a printed map you had to cross-reference with, as I recall, a colored piece of plastic? Annoying as hell but only once per mission.

How did you guys figure out the security code for the door to the base was 12300? I got stuck there and never finished the game back in the day. Had hours of fun as a kid though

Exactly! Not sure how anyone could have figured that out. The only reason I was able to beat this mission was because I called the "Tip Line" that came with the instruction manual. Lmao.... man, we were truly pioneers of PC gaming. And God forbid your forgot to manually save....

Not only did they get the real actors to do the voices but they all made an effort too. The big boxes of text and old clunky interface are annoying though.

Fistwagon the text boxes was big because it was design for the small resolution which most monitors at the time supports (mostly 800x600 and 640x480)

@@RobertKS She did voice the computer (more monotonously) and she also played as ensign a number of episodes. In TNG she was the computer voice and Lwaxana, Deanna Troi's mother.

It is a completely different storyline with different locations and gameplay more suited to that machine. The premise of the story is inspired by the events of the Classic Series episode "A piece of the action"

Ah you mean your collection. Heh, no I thought you were looking for information on this game for some some online NES information library. It is worth playing and finished once, I do warn you that it does not have much replayability.

this was an awesome game in its day. to bad they haven't produced a more modern version with the same feel and gameplay. the technology has improved greatly but the content on allot of games is sadly lacking. too much call of duty crap

They can't really anymore. Three of the actors are dead, and the original series is almost 50 years old at this point. Everyone's attention is on the reboot series. Also, adventure games are old hat today, except for a small following.

Wait, so Vulcans used to smoke electrical insulation to get high? And I thought the shit I experiment with as a kid was fucked up- damn... Also, I've noticed the Red Shirt's name changes with each new world visited. That means his survival conflicts with his purpose in life.

The Cult of the Jim The red shirt can die multiple ways each mission if you make the wrong choice. On the first planet: the Klingon attack (of course), or by destroying the boulders in the wrong order (he dives in front of a tumbling boulder to push Kirk to safety), and I think offending the alien will make him kill everyone. If the red shirt is already dead, then the next will just kill Kirk/Spock/Bones and be a game over.
