what is the difference between style files and song files? am I right that song files are midi files? and style files are not? I see huge lists of thousands of Yamaha midi files for there psr keyboards. this gets very confusing to me.

Very interesting !! But Medeli could gain a lot of part of the market if they could follows some users annotation and suggestion. They are copying ( or doing ) yamaha artifacts following pro & cons of that brand

So with GrandSuite V2 - you can use Yamaha PSR styles on the AKX10 - but can't use Korg Pa styles...? Can you use both Yamaha PSR and Korg Pa voices/sounds on the AKX10.

Please review at 3:06 and have a look. It answers your question. To import voices (wav, SF2) you use the "Sound" section of the GS Software.

Hi I have noticed somehow many ppl use same exact sets and sounds from Korg and Genos, I know you mentioned it's not compatible but how to every convert complete sets from Genos and Korg, I have tried with grandsuite it's not working ?

Hi, thanks for next very useful video, it has been making me closer and closer to purchase Medeli or Thomann. Could you do similar things with Korg (.sty) style, especially a one with few CV’s? Let me know to share any of such one with you if needed. Thx; Jacek

Am I correct that Grand Suite can only convert Yamaha styles with .PRS extension and not the ones with .STY extensions ? I have lots of Yamaha styles I like to convert to play on my AKX10.

No, you can't use Yamaha (or Korg) styles. You have to convert Yamaha styles - and only Yamaha styles - with the Grand Suite Software end export them. I answered that in the first 25 seconds of the video.😁

@@pcpanikMusik You also said/shown in this video that Yamaha used the .sty extension many years ago. I have a Yamaha PSR S900 from 2007. That is also many years ago :). Will they be recognized? Seems many of the sounds are the same. In the video you say/show that .sty is one of the formats that can be read from this Medeli. I have many of those type files (Styles in Yamaha Format). Thanks

I said that .sty is supported by the software. However, not that the keyboard can use them. You can try the conversation by yourself. Download the GS Software and try to convert. This should work. But the statement for direct use is very clear: you can't use Yamaha styles (directly). You have to convert Yamaha styles with the Grand Suite Software end export them. This is the second or third time I have watched this video (and I don’t even own a Medeli arranger … yet) and a question just popped into my head. I know you said the Grandsuite software won’t let you hear what the styles will sound like on your keyboard from within the software. Since there are hundreds of Yamaha styles available on the internet, is there any way to listen to the styles so that you can decide if it is one you want to convert? Thanks

I'm not sure if this works for you, but there is a little program, called MIDI & Style Player from www.jososoft.dk/yamaha/software/mandsplay/index.htm Maybe that helps you to decide. But the AKX comes with 280 build in styles and there are also 60 in the Expansion Pack. It might take quite a while to deal with these alone.

Medeli will be more appealing when it implements audio ( .wav ) in styles and especially more flashram than yamama and why not, having a portable module will be the winning move !!!

Please watch the video again. Your question will be answered twice there. You can't use Korg styles or Samples. You have to convert Yamaha styles - and only Yamaha styles - with the Grand Suite Software end export them. I answered that in the first 25 seconds of the video.😁 If you want to make new sounds, you have to use SF2 or WAV Samples.

Hi again .... I found that Medeli has released a new version of the GrandSuite software that allows you to edit Phrase Pads. I was able to convert some of the Yamaha Multi Pads that I downloaded (but not all).

iam making my own drum sounds on medeli akx10 with grand suite but having a problem with finding the (receive key off) that yamaha expansion manager has and i cant find it on the medeli grand suite, i need it because i want the open hi hat on my drum to be on receive key so that the sound stops playing when the key is not pressed i need help

This could be a bug. Which Keyboard are you asking for? Thomann or Medeli? Which firmware is installed? Version 1.4.6 can be expected in the next few days for Medeli. Thomann has been released (have a look at the thomann website) This may solve the problem.

Hello … I know you have sold your AKX10 but I wonder if you have time to answer a quick question. In the styles O have converted for the Medeli from Yamaha I would like to swap Ending 1 and Ending 3 so that the simplest Ending will be Ending 3 like the Medeli styles. Do you know the best way to do this? Thanks.

You have to edit them with a MIDI editor, that supports Yamaha (or Medeli) format. Styles are nothing more than a MIDI file with sections for the Intros, Mains, Fills, Endings. You can edit KORG Pa Styles with Steinberg Cubase e.g.

Hey, nice review over there just i have one question what if i downloaded yamaha drumkit and i want my yamaha styles to work along with the yamaha drumkit, I mean on the same expansion instead to work from Medeli voices and drumkit to yamaha voices and drumkit?! Thanks..

You can create User-Drumkits with the ‚sound‘ section of the Grand Suite v2 Software and put them into your Expansion pack.

Hello, great tutorials and demos on your channel, congratulations! I ordered a Thpmann AK X1100 and I try to prepare some expansion packs. Please help me to understand what am I doing wrong. I downloaded Yamaha expansion packs and all are ending in .cpf. I downloaded several version, for different keyboard models, but all are .cpf files. GrandSuite software cannot see and handle these files...I declare myself lost. Please let me know your advice. Thanks a lot!

The GS Software can’t open Yamaha Extension Packs. Only single styles.

If you delete your sounds and styles, how should anyone else provide them to you? To save the data of the AKX10, a look at page 170 of the operating instructions will help.

You have to start with a MAIN Part. Please record at least something to the MAIN Part and then you should be able to save.

@@pcpanikMusik zen is not out yet. But A2000 has been around and last I checked medeli had 3 expansions for it that anyone can download. I was hoping someone more knowledgeable than me, like you, take a look at them first.

@@pcpanikMusik I got this answer from them: "Akx10 is not compatible with other expansion formats. You can however use the grand suite software to convert styles and instruments. We are continuing to work on new expansions."

it takes too much time so you say "change only the styles you want". That would be an answer if you could listen to the styles before converting them, but you said that's not possible. Thanks very much for this video, but since I have a life besides sitting behind my PC and keyboard, I'm gonna pass on this.

Их можно загрузить такими какие они есть, и уже слушая на синтезаторе менять инструменты, так проще, я так переделал несколько стилей)
