The lag may be coming from the honey blocks updating and flashing because they aren't solid, it would explain why it isn't so bad with slime

You know what would be cool? If the cinematic mod cached chunks so they wouldn't flicker in and out as the camera moves around. It could just cache the exterior details rather than the entire chunk data, if they wanted to save on memory usage. I can imagine an implementation that wouldn't need to query the server at all; it'd just cache what the client receives. Sure, there could be some strange ghosting effects if those chunks were, in fact, being updated, but that's a small price to pay for an improvement in quality.

Unless I'm mistaken, I've seen this exact stuttering behavior in Minecraft before. It's related to the absolutely terrible way it unloads things from ram. The entire client has to stop while it figures out what stuff it can trash, and certain scenarios can make that process take much longer than normal. You can watch the ram counter in f3 to check whether this is indeed the issue, but Mango didn't leave f3 up for long enough.

making it is one thing but understanding how it works just blows my mind

Imagine explaining what you've accomplished in this game to another human being who thought you weren't talking about a video game. You'd come across somewhere between mad scientist and grand sorceror. "I built fleets of megalithic autonomous machines to obliterate dimensions and consume worlds, farms which produce crops on orders of magnitudes you've only begun to fathom and harnessed the natural processes of this world to do my bidding" and that's just a handful of episodes. Edit: Even explaining the machines on display to a Minecraft player who had only just begun to play the game would still leave them feeling like the Psycraft team members are some sort of wizards.

19:20 when you said you would place blocks of different colors to denote the biomes, it game me an idea for a movable block entity video: a 3-directional movable tree farm that creates a platform out of leaves (and maybe a few logs if filling the gaps left by the trunks is a problem). Bonus points if you make a 2x2 spruce version that can generate the leaf platform below the flying machine.

The Lag that makes it look like Powerpoint presentation is because of the fact that Honey blocks are not Solid blocks and they update more frequently and have more updates in general ...
