what a great catch. love how u teach how to use the lure.
@edsanchez7297 жыл бұрын
ive noticed that if you give them time to inspect the lure they will swim right up to it and decide not to bite.. i like to work them fast but there are a lot of times where they simply know better than to bite a lure
@edsanchez7297 жыл бұрын
im amazed at how they bite everything you throw at em.. thats never happened to me with the peacocks around my area
@triplethreatoutdoors45107 жыл бұрын
Eduardo Sanchez it's because that's a honey hole, peacocks will only bite lures at good spots

Friend very good video. For me the BEST lure for very big peacock bass in Florida is the prop bait 4.0 inch. Grim Ripper from High Roller Company. The best colors for me are firetiger, clown, redhead. Grettings from Costa Rica

The color pattern is called "Paca" and shows the individual being fully focused on hunting. When they are paca, fight harder, jumps insanely.

Going out to get peacock bass for the first time in my life since I am from Boston and I am down in the Delray area now and I'm getting that mirrolure twitch bait to try it out and I think that would be a great lure. Thank you so much for posting this video it was very entertaining and enlightening.

I use a lot of the same techniques as use with good success. I also use a 3 inch finess (spelled wrong) with an erratic retrieve with good success especially in heavy cover. I rig it seedless.

There were originally 2 species of peacock bass released in Florida. Spotted and butterfly are the 2 names I think. The internet says the bigger kind died off, but it looks like you might have caught 1. I don't remember which one it said died off, and I don't think it's accurate info. I'm going rainbow bass fishin' in Costa Rica next week and this looks like great advice on retrieves and lures. They're all giant cichlids but there's less info on the rainbows.
@xxdevin_66xx31 Жыл бұрын
It was actually three if I remember correctly speckled, butterfly, and striped but the specked didn’t thrive as well as the other but I’ve heard people have caught them before down here
@comfortablynumb9342 Жыл бұрын
@@xxdevin_66xx31 could be. I barely remember an article in Florida Sportsman Magazine when it was done. There was controversy of course, and rightly so. But I guess there are still native fish around, and lots of invasive species for everything to eat. I thought I remembered 2 kinds of peacock bass released, but I don't pretend to be an expert.

You ever use soft plastics to catch peacocks?
@cristopherblanco6965 жыл бұрын
Peacocks and plastics dont get along. Ive catched them with worms but only on their beds. But it a workout. Just go with hard lures like this guy does. Thats how I do it.

Triple Threat Outdoors wrong, these fish act by instinct, theres no such thing as peas acting different in different ponds, youre just using and working the wrong lures!
@jidduvega95657 жыл бұрын
renan silva there's a lot of peacocks in my canal. They're about 4 or 5 pounders. I figured out what lure they pay the most attention to, ( in my case the spoon) the only problem they always strike but they always miss the hook. What should I do?
@2wheelarnie4 жыл бұрын
Jiddu Vega 2 years later but use a smaller spoon or change the hook to a wider gap
@lukefam13177 күн бұрын
Peacocks hit anything that bothers them so dont act like your a fishing magician cuz you use lures bud. I literally caught 2 peacock on a bare hook
