We had a strong group of Laurel, Josh, and Anne, and myself. Started at lake Como, and headed up the rock creek trail. Laurel and Josh were interested in this peak as it is on the P2K list, and I was looking to double dip on two Bitterroot 9kers. Once off trail, the climb involved some typical nasty bushwhack, then boulder/talus hopping to a lovely little tarn. We tagged Whites mountain first, then made the long slog down 1000 feet elevation to get to a point where we could go right back up to hit Whites East. Smoke from the Idaho fires filled into area, worsening throughout the day. 24 miles and 6700 vert RT made for a very long day. Still glad to get these two 9kers done! Ten to go!
