From what I've read online, it seems most people prefer Pearl to X. It's the other way around for me. I prefer X. This is still a good movie though. I love how it's part of the X trilogy, but stylistically it's very different. I love that. X is more of a horror/slasher, while this one feels more like a character drama, with horror elements sprinkled in. I also love how the look of each film is different to go with the time period. X had that film grain look, while Pearl uses technicolor. I'm so psyched for Maxxxine.

I'm guessing that the style of Maxxxine will be as though it's been filmed on the kinds of video cameras and film they had in the 1980's.

My suggestion for Halloween month is "The Haunting of Hill House", the 10 episode Netflix series. The best mini-series I've seen in the last 20 years or so. If you don't want to commit to a series, then my movie suggestions are"1408", "Cujo", "Black Phone", "The Invisible Man" (the Elizabeth Moss one frpm 2019? I think) and "Smile". Elizabeth Moss should'v.e been nominated for an Oscar, as well as Sosie Bacon for Smile. 1408 and Cujo are Stephen King adaptations and Black Phone is adapted from a Joe Hill (Stephen King's son) story. Loved your reaction to this one (as always). You were as adorable as ever.🤗

Mia Goth absolutely smashed it out of the park with this performance. That last monologue had me on the brink of tears and the following axe scene was so unnerving knowing what she was about to do. Absolute gem of a performance and film.

technically pearl is the sequel to X but you don't really need to watch X to understand it, Pearl gives alot more context to the events of X but it works as a stand alone movie too!
