+Todd Victorson i think it is. and vedder's version is live. daltrey is awesome in his own right, but i don't think his version is necessarily better. kinda like when steve ray vaughan covered voodoo child, both version are unique and cool in different ways. just two awesome artists. anyhow, just my opinion :)

+laroo56 Hey Shemp, yeah man. I watch this over and over. It really stands the test of time and frequency. Rock music in the early 90s took early 70s rock and brought it full circle, and up a few notches. As the Grungers mature they continue to keep the flame alive. Unfortunately we didn't get the 20 year 3-peat in 2010. Oh Well, I'll keep watching this. It's really great.

Guillermo Alvarado We must teach the young to demand that real artists play real instruments. Lots of great bands are currently playing in small dives but they’ll never get the breaks like they once could...because the corporate music machine only signs what sells these days: auto-tune digitally-made music (aka: CRAP). The mass consumer must demand better out of our popular music. Don’t see that happening with millennials and younger though.

Pearl Jam is truly great enough to handle these songs. They are so epic in there music and lyrics. Truly Great! Vedder does a great job paying tribute to Daltrey's incredibly rich and manly voice, enormous range and talent and Townsend's unbelievably wonderful capacity to write very emotionally charged lyrics in a very meaningful yet masculine way. Not very many people can carry that balancing act off as consistently as he has.
@plk55206 жыл бұрын
Quadrophenia was my favorite album when it was released in 1973. I was 19 years old. To hear such a fantastic contemporary version is an incredible treat. They do much more than justice to both songs. I could even make the case that Eddie Vedder's voice surpasses that of Roger Daltrey's, but will at the very least settle for saying it is every bit as good. I also think Thunderfingers would nod his head in approval at the bass player's rendition of his lines, which sound rhythmically exact and note perfect. No small feat!
