Hard to believe Eddie is one of the last surviving grunge singers around today.. nearly all of them lost to suicide or addiction. Best wishes to him and the rest of the surviving scene

YES! He puts so much heart and soul and passion into every performance. I love Eddie just as much now as then, but early 90s Eddie is my fave! He was still young and still had so much angst and it made his performances just so damn passionate.

One of the best things in the 90's... Even though there are a lot of good small concert and unplugged sessions on youTube... they don't reach that level of magic and power of the athmosphere in that room. Only the best had the honor of performing there in that programm.

Robert Ryanson I didn’t say it was jeremys story. “But nice try” I just said the parents almost filed a lawsuit. Which pearl jam got out of it by stating it was inspired by a true story. “But nice try though” the original lawsuit would have been for misinformation. Stating that he depicted jeremys parents as not carrying about him.

The 90s was such a magical time for music. These bands, just like any other, get lumped into this categorical label of “grunge” and it just discounts how fucking great they truly were. It’s sad how few of the singers of this era of bands are still alive today. Experiencing this music as a youngster is something I’ll be forever grateful for.

Those grunge albums of the early nineties from PJ, AIC, Soundgarden were music from another stratosphere. The power, the energy, the melodies, the incredible vocals of the lead singers. Never been matched.

This is arguably one of the best performances I’ve ever seen. This version of the song BLOWS the soundtrack version out of the water. His passion and the intensity of the instruments played by the band are amazing. So powerful tbh. Especially with the message and context of the song. Music can be so powerful and this is a great example

trust me, no matter how much wisdom and character is developed, a perfect storm of unfortunate events and popular opinion turned against you will drag you right back. there's just something about rampant judgmental misunderstanding of you, by others, and the corresponding ill treatment of your soul that sends you, inevitably, to being 'King Xxxxx, The Wicked (either that or make a sacrificial offering for the ignorant hubristic masses, like Jesus did).

He doesn't just sing this song, he feels it! He has one of the best male voices in the business (he sounds live exactly the same as on the record) and hotdamn, he looks gorgeous. "Jeremy" is an intens song about a horrific event and he is the only one who could have conveyed the intensity of the event.

This song is bitter sweet for me.. it reminds me of the time my mom briefly came back into my life when I was 15 (she introduced me to this song) After being back in my life for two months(absent for 2 years after bailing on me and my little brother to run away with inheritance money while fleeing with warrants) she bailed again and didn’t see her again until I was 21 years old… not sure why I decided to share this but if you read this.. thank you 🤙🏼

I can't imagine what it would have been like to be there in person, Everybody in the band, and the audience knew some thing special was happening with Vedder during this show, he was coming into his own completely, letting himself be truly inspired by the songs.

well, that wasn't what I saw, i thought at that point of the song he was feeling the lyrics so hard that he almost cry, I thought harder on it after that moment when he closes his arms, for his face and his teary voice, but yeah, maybe it was cuz they were there for mtv.

I still can't watch this without tearing up a bit. The is still one of the best live performances I've ever seen. It's raw yet defined and real. No over-dubs. No drum machine. No auto-tune. No dancers. Just the best live band to step on stage.

I've lost 2 Brothers to suicide. It's extremely painful and never understood. The song is a tribute to a terrible incident. I'm quite sure it was never meant to be harmful in any way. My heart goes out to those who've lost and those who suffer from indecency in their lives. Remember time passes and can get better. Life is short in the overall spectrum of time. Childhood trauma is always at the root. The parents never paid attention to him and quite frankly didn’t care. I experienced it. Children are the most marginalized demographic in society period. God bless all the jeremys out there.

Eddie Vedder was my VERY FIRST CRUSH IN LIFE! I remember laying in the living room floor..I was only 5 maybe 6 yrs old when I saw Eddie and heard his voice for the very first time! ❤ This very video on MTV. I WAS OBSESSED!! I recorded these on VHS every time Pearl Jam was featured on MTV: Unplugged. I still have them!! ❤❤❤
