Totti was also the same. He rejected many offers from big clubs like Real Madrid and opted to stay at Roma , to take them to the top. Credits are always given for players with more trophies. But these guys who stayed till their last minute in the same club were waiting for their club to succeed more. The unsung heroes of the game

Very few people can put a smile on my face. I grew up a Barca fan since I was 6. Watching Messi play week in and week out always made me happy. Even in the dark times in my life, when I used to think I had nothing to live for, I remembered if I end it I won’t watch the Barca game on the weekend or a champions league match ever again with him. Worst part about Reus’s career is that he should have a WC medal but he got injured. Tottis career would be looked at very differently if he didn’t have the WC. I think Reus will be underrated by future generations.

I always say that loyalty is tested when times are hard. The special thing here isn't that he played for his boyhood club for so long but the special thing is that even though Dortmund not winning trophies, even after they finished 7th in the table, even after they went season after season after season of not winning the bundesliga title Marco Rues stayed. Reus still doesn't have a league title and BvB have come so close to winning it countless times but couldn't. (especially last season). Meanwhile during these years he saw several teammates come and go. Gundo left for City, Lewa left for Bayern, Haaland left for City, Auba went to Arsenal, Bellingham chose Madrid, heck even Mats Hummels and Gotze went to Bayern for a time. He saw many of these players winning trophies left and Right for those clubs but he still stayed after enduring all that heartbreak and pain. This is what makes it special. The fact that even though times were not good and it only got worse Reus still stayed at Dortmund.

This the guy that made me support Dortmund, when I heard that he would leave at the end of the season, a tear came to my eye, a true legend that had many setbacks (injuries) but didn't give up and didn't allow his loyalty to waver. I am a Real Madrid fan, and I truly want our team to win. Especially Modric to win his last champions leage at Real Madrid. However, Modric joined for glory, or at least that's a reason. Marco Reus deserves this champions league, I would love to see him win.
