DECEMBER 2022 UPDATE(s):
- Beginning in 2023, there will be 16 teams in the Pecos League split in two divisions
- The Houston Apollos are no longer a full-time official member Pecos League, and appear to be playing independently
- The Wasco Reserve no longer play in the Pecos League (although the Wasco website says otherwise, and appears to be non-updated)
- The Weimar Hormigas no longer play in the Pecos League (although their website also says otherwise, and appears to be non-updated)
- The Colorado Springs Snow Sox no longer play in the Pecos League (and you're not gonna believe this, but their website says otherwise and appears to be non-updated)
- The Santa Cruz Seaweed are now the Vallejo Seaweed
- New to the Pecos League for 2023 are the Blackwell FlyCatchers, Lancaster Sound Breakers, and Marysville Drakes. You will not find mentions of these teams in this video
Today we're ranking the logos of the Pecos League!
The Pecos League is an independent league located in the western part of the United States. It's made up of teams from California, New Mexico, Arizona, Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, and Colorado.
The Pecos League is a very historic league with teams in small towns and large cities alike. I've ranked all 17 logos from "Worst to First." Let me know down in the comments which logos are your favorites!
Find out more from the Pecos League on their website: www.pecosleague.com/pecosleagu...

Cody, I loved your video! I’m a big fan of the Pecos League! Here is a bit of history about the Santa Fe Fuego logo- the Fuego play at historic Fort Marcy Ballpark which is also home to the burning of Zozobra! Zozobra is a 50 foot tall marionette which is burned each year to rid away the previous year’s bad luck. Thus the name Fuegos (fire in Spanish) and the chaos with the flames on the logo, maybe. Loved the video!

Thank you Michael! I absolutely LOVE this detail. That’s awesome. The Fuego logo is so chaotic in a fun way. I truly love this league and the logos they bring. Thanks for shining light on this 🔥

Fun video! The Kokernot o6 ballpark in Alpine really is impressive. You gotta put it on your bucket list to go see a game and check it out. It’s a Texan’s right of passage. Kudos.

Great stuff, Cody! As the one & ONLY P.A. announcer in the San Rafael (pronounced: San Ruh-fell) Pacifics' history, I'll share a few facts about our home field "Albert Park". The stadium has a rich history which includes: - playing host, in 1954, to a high school-aged traveling team from El Cerrito, CA which included future major leaguers: Frank Robinson, Vada Pinson, Curt Flood, Ernie Broglio & Tommy Harper... that had to bee one heckuva team! - in August of 2013, Bill "Spaceman" Lee (@ the age of 66!) was signed to a Pacifics' contract & played all 9 positions in a game vs the Maui Na Koa Ikaika. - @ the age of 50, Paul Nave ("The Marin County Assassin") fought 24-year old Brandon Hoskins before a record crowd @ Albert Park. Hoskins, as one might expect, was the winner in a bout that may have set a boxing record for the "greatest age disparity between two combatants" in the history of the sport! Fun facts to know & tell...

Interesting fact about the Houston Apollos… they actually played in the American Association of Professional Baseball to complete the 12 teams in the league, so Kane County took the St. Paul Saints spot in the North, and the Houston Apollos took the Texas AirHogs place in the South… however, the Houston Apollos managed to play all 100 games on the road as they were the all-travel team

Awesome content, Cody! On the Triggers logo, I believe the silver part is a steel firearm trigger, with the baseball forming the shape of a trigger guard. I believe they made it this abstract as to not actually have a firearm on their uniforms.

As far as travel goes, the teams play against others in their own division. So no travel from Calfornia to Texas. Tucson is the only exception because of their odd location, they have games against teams in both Pacific and Mountain.

Its crazy because in 2024 pecos bills will come in and Weimer will lose the team,Blackwell oklahoma & Colorado Springs folded, landcaster soundbreakers replaced wasco for 2023 and than Lancaster will fold and be replaced by north plate 80s, monterey just folded, the Houston Apollos moved to the American association before folding,i may miss a few but thats all i know Edit:i believe santa cruz relocated and their is now 16 teams instead of 17

Please accept some corrections to your blog. 1. Herbert Lee Kokernot, Jr, who built Kokernot Field in Alpine in 1947 was NOT a farmer. He was in fact a RANCHER who owned the 06 Ranch. The ranch is still in business. Had he been a farmer in the climate and terrain of Alpine, he would surely have not been able to afford the terrific stadium that is Kokernot Field. FYI, some pretty famous baseball players have played there - including Satchel Page and Gaylord Perry. 2. The Pecos League team that plays in Roswell is not named Aliens. Nor has it ever been. The team is called The Invaders. 3. As the former manager of the Tucson Saguaros, I am pleased to see you selected the the Saguaros Logo as the best IN THE PECOS LEAGUE. (See correction 4 below for an explanation.) But, first I need to apprise you of the pronunciation of Saguaros. The “g” is pronounced like “wh” (the word is Spanish). It is pronounced “Sah-WHAR-ohs”. 4. There are 16 (not 17) teams in the League. The one you mentioned that does not compete in the League is the Houston Apollos. It has never competed in the League. Ordinarily it competes in the Pecos Spring League (our instructional league), as well as a semipro league in Houston. In 2021, the American Association contracted with the Pecos League to provide the road team for that league (as it had done in other years). In 21, the League designated the Apollos to fill that role. I agree with you that the logo is way cool - but the team does not compete in regular Pecos League. JD Droddy Pecos League Adjudicator

JD, thank you so much for such a detailed response to this. It really helps me for research purposes going forward. While these videos are meant to be fun and entertaining, I always strive for accuracy. Admittedly the Invaders was a complete miss, and I love that name so much more than my mistake of Aliens. That’s very interesting about the Apollos too so thank you for that clarification. I use the league websites as my resources for these, and it appeared on their website the team was a full-participating member based on their inclusion within the “Teams” list section. This makes the Saguaros #1 indeed and I am a huge fan. Additionally, Satchel Paige is all time favorite player of mine so that extra information is incredible! Thank you.
