Had this happen to me as well. Had her down to the last sliver of HP and then I missed a dodge roll stab and died next second. Took me two more hours before I killed Rellana.

thats why you need use summon even if you dead they still can hit enemy... its better than wasting time,, that's a feature in the game not a cheat, why people don't want to use it

She would not have. Rellana doesn't stagger on hit.

Giant's Hunt is just busted, same as Lion's Claw, they always have been. Great hyper-armor multiplier and crazy poise damage. But really, getting a functional build going is half the game. The game is only as hard as you want it to be.

Huge majority of plyers either sticks to their early game weapon for the whole playthrough or preplan it. Obviously you can do whatever in Ng+ but only small number of players is gonna play Ng+ after beating the game. 90% of weapons in this game is useless

Tbh, it might also be dependent on the Scadutree level and maybe even the armor. At least for opponents I noticed that certain weapon types are worse than others even if they do physical damage all the same. So maybe the right armor can also be very important.

damage types like piercing, slashing or bludgeoning could impact things a bit too

its great but hard to use in this fight reliably, you usually get smacked if you use it on most openings because the end lag is too long to recover before the next combo starts. basically you need some really perfect timing and maybe fast roll to pull it off consistently from my testing, but it does obliterate the boss as fast as the boss obliterates you

giant hunt is my go-to for humanoid bosses and when im strugging too much on my regular weapons

If you wanna play like that go ahead but other people have the right to criticize it.
