The one dislike is obviously the shark that failed to get your mates doggy. Great footage, and I appreciate you filming your healthy respect to the ocean gods. Hopefully it makes people stop and think a little bit more when they're out on the water.

The first thing I noticed about this reel is its weight kzfaq.infoUgkxM68VkfsQhHaabDce1IwOCXuvumcpbZ_k . I wouldn't say it was uncomfortable but it was a little heavier than other similarly sized reels. However, that didn't deter my enjoyment of how smooth this reel is. I spooled it with 20lb. Tuf-Line XP and it's perfect for what I use it for. I have it paired with an 8'6" Medium/Fast Okuma SST Salmon/Steelhead rod. The combination is perfect for casting and even drifting. I used the reel all day and didn't experience any arm or hand fatigue except when fighting a few fish! The bail is solid and feels strong when engaging by reeling and manually closing the bail by hand. The large rubber handle grip is very comfortable. It's got a powerful drag, silky smooth reeling, and feels very comfortable in the hands. I recommend it!

Can you explain to me why you guys just don't keep the drag tight versus trying to stop the drag with your hands? I feel like you guys lose half your fishes when you try to control the drag with your hands rather than just sit in the drag tight from the gecko.. I would like you guys to enlighten me on the matter. Is there something I overlooked? Cuz those reels hold 55 lb of drag and you guys are fishing with like 80 lb. Braid. Thx. And how are the certaints handling the abuse? I'm considering a 14k certate or the twin power

Epic as always matt😎 never ever short of action that's for sure" the first fish would have been a beast of a doggy💯 I haven't done any jigging and just wanted to know about the assist hooks being on the top of the jig next to your line, why not on the bottom of the jig so the line may be further from there teeth and might be less bight offs?
@PelagicPursuit893 жыл бұрын
when youre jigging the assist on the bottom will come up and fowl on the line and also then your using split rings which is creating possible weak point instead of tying direct to the hook when its on top

sometimes we have to enjoy the fish fight, without always having to lock the reel drag, and give him a little run, have you ever get 8kg fish with 0,8 PE and with reel size 1000??
@maxschmidt94612 жыл бұрын
well, the problem is that you usually fish near structure anfd wanna be able to land even an 50kg Tuna cause that's a fish of a lifetime, I've lost two fish of a lifetime, one cause the line was to weak, learned my lesson, I always choose my tackle to be ready for a trophy, no reason not to let a fish in open water run but you need to be able to put the heat on when it's needed, I have used 30kg drag on spin and 60kg on conventional before, mesured with a scale! ain't fun but with the right angle to the line and a good stand it's possible, of course I usually fish lighter drag but sometimes you just need to stop a fish with all you've got. but I also caught fish bigger then me on tackle that was supposed to catch baitfish with 30-50cm... but that was in a river and I even had to go for a lil dive to free the line, plus chase the fish downstream...
