@@JB-yb4wn It has nothing to do with that, human is able to adapt. If you throw a baby in Japan and let him be brought up by Japanese, surround himself only with Japanese. His culture and speech will not be different than Japanese even though he doesn't look like a Japanese. I think the same happened to snow. People tend to neglect such a thing. Humans are not born with culture and speech, they learn it. They are only born with a different skincolor and ethnicity.

As far as I remember, Snow's neighbour was a Jamaican family and they let Snow hang out at their place and listen to their records, which were, if I recall correctly, dutty rock, kinda like "street" regae. Funny thing is, Snow had a criminal record and he discussed this on the arsenio hall show and when the US authorities found out, he was no longer allowed in the US, effectively ending his exposure there. At the time and I guess some folks now a days, were claiming he was mimicking the culture, but funny thing is, he is welcomed with open arms in Jamaica and regarded as an icon to this day in the dance halls there, because he showed the genre respect and could spit it better than most. Lots of people who claim he shouldn't have been allowed to do what he did don't even know Jamaica's national motto, Out of Many, One People. I'm glad u saw this and enjoyed it. As a fellow Canadian, I always liked what Darrin O'brien accomplished

I was with you until you said he spit better than most. lets not get carried away. Snow was average at best and a novelty act of a canadian in a mostly jamaican genre helped generate interest. Sniow is not one of the best reggae or dancehall artist. He is good but far from a goat of this genre

Snow is Canadian (as am I) and I remember when this song came out. It was a HUGE hit. He grew up in Toronto and those in his neighbourhood were all from the islands (specifically Jamaica) so it's in his blood. The song is about “Informer” basically as an insult against those who he claimed “snitched on” him, which led to him doing an eight-month bid in the maximum-security Toronto East Detention Center. Owing to this, the hook of the track is based on Snow physically threatening the “informer” who got him locked down. He's singing a combination of English and Jamaican Patois (creole).

Basically, this dude was eminem-level skilled (maybe moreso if you compare him to early Em)... and he was completely assassinated by the hiphop community for being white. Em was lucky Dre had his back and that he came along some years later...
