Alphonso: I am a beginning artist. I'm 73 years old so I'm starting pretty late, but I have been watching as many of your tutorials as I can over the past 2 years; I've watched many SEVERAL times and have a bunch on the desktop of my computer! Your tutorials are always my "go to" place when I'm starting a new project.

Dear Mr. Dunn, I subscribe to your channel, I watch all your videos and they all, without exception blow me out of the water. This one.... wow! This is just unbelievable. Thanks very very much for making these instructional videos available for free for those of us who can't afford formal art classes. You have no idea how valuable they are, and how appreciative I am. I wish I could draw with even a tiny fraction of the quality and ease with which you do. Thanks again... Very appreciative...

This video is fantastic because it is instructive and inspiring. Your tips about setting up the composition clarified some key aspects of perspective, and it was nifty hearing you think out loud as you decided what to draw. And then the magic started flowing; watching you call that little corner of the world into being was exhilarating. Thank you for teaching us. What you do for us is remarkable! You make drawing seem at once possible (I can learn!) and mysterious (the process is full of glorious surprises).

This is my Inktober2018, Day 28 drawing tutorial. I love landscapes and usually do them in water colour. this is my 1st attempt at a pen and ink landscape :). Thank you so much Alphonso. You are such an amazing teacher and artist.

I just recently began watching your tutorials and am impressed by your teaching. I don't understand why you feel it necessary to speed up the video. You are an excellent teacher, but while the video is speeded up and you aren't speaking there are opportunities for teaching which are lost. You're an exceptionally good teacher so I find it disappointing when your teaching is replaced simply by an exhibition of your brilliant skills as an artist. I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one who will feel this way so I feel confident respectfully imploring you to reconsider in the future using this technique. Thank you for generously sharing your considerable skills and talents.

Very impressive, and extremely helpful. Good advice about not being afraid to flow with your efforts--see where it takes your drawing. I think there can be a god-like high experienced, during and after the creative process (regardless of the medium used). I find it intoxicating--in a good way. Creating true art has the power, potentially--to lift up the human spirit, to elevate a person's self image, to affirm and encourage people. A god-like power, imdeed. After all--we WERE created in His image. Shalom.

Very good. With Background trees, I tend to use the Stippling effect (Series of dots) and very lightly aswell because trees in the background are lighter to the ones in the front. I tend to use shad and light on my houses as well leaving one side shade, other side light. Not bad though.
