Cigar cases work well.

Aaron i think i know what you mean about the marks left on the pens from the elastic. Because i notice when pull a pen out of my case there is a sort of whitish powder on the pen. And also my cheap Chinese 12 pen case some of the elastic straps have disintegrated. Now i only buy quality pen cases. Thanks for the link to the pen tray iv'e been after some of them for ages. I must get hold of a set of drawers like that. Thank you for showing us your pen storage solutions and also your office space much appreciated and thank you again.

Hi Aaron. I love watching videos like this. Pen reviews are great but to see individual solutions to storage problems or ways of displaying a collection really interests me. Pen collecting is addictive, of course, and very soon you need another pen case or another set of drawers or more cigar boxes. I think it's really interesting to get a glimpse of your office. Enjoyable video. Many thanks.

I use Contact paper that is made from Cork to cushion the inside of my storage boxes, cut to fit.

I have that exact art storage box except for 6 drawers instead of 5, and the same pen trays. I was able to create storage for 22 pens per tray, so 132 per box. I have maybe 10 pens that are just too thick to fit into those drawers, so for those I use something else. But these are so much less than any of the fancy wooden tray boxes you can find anywhere else. BTW, I think those little dividers are structural, without them the drawers would be too flimsy.

Thanks Aaron, I'm a little late to the show. I've been looking for alternative storage ideas and LOVE the drawer system. I found another one that has one more drawer on Amazon. Can you LMK the Depth of each drawer? The other one I found is only 1/2" and doesn't seem quite deep enough and there are no specifics on the one you mention. Thanks for your help!

Very cool ideas. On your cigar box, did you put any "padding" under the wood to prevent the wood from scratching the bottom layer?
