I like that so many people at first seem to miss the picture you two took that was left behind where she died, lol. I too like to believe since its a dream, she is still alive, but Acheron making it seem like since she was specifically killed by that Death thing, that she really is gone. Idk. I agree though, I don't think they'd just kill off a character we just met like that. Oh yeah, and then theres Robin, lol

The question is: why would the meme be the only exception when it comes to death in the dream? Even Black Swan isn’t able to kill someone in the dreamscape while having almost complete control over memoria. I assume its victims are being held hostage in an unending nightmare. As another commenter already mentioned, that would mirror the mechanic of its boss fight. Going one level further, imagine if the dreamscape requires hosts to perpetually dream it up? Perhaps Death is the one responsible for ensuring there are enough hosts, and as the dreamscape is expanded, it needs to snatch more people. That doesn’t really explain why the dreamscape is currently in decline though. I’m just spitballing at this point.

Normally you wouldn’t die in Dreamscape…but that Death meme takes your soul so your IRL body is lifeless…

Most streamers do seem to miss that. Even before 'that scene' happened, Black Swan already stated that the Meme is dangerous being that can brings death to all which is not supposed to be in the dream.

Its also quite literally what it does when you fight against it in that TV filled room. Killing a character, leaving it with 0HP, but trapping it on its side of the combat, where you have to rescue your teammate, I feel like thats not just a gamemechanic for the fight, but probably also symbolic...

Looking back at it now, even before he calls Firefly March, he gives it away. Sampo always uses his full name when he says it. Only using his first is a tell.

From what we know so far, dying in the dreamscape should just result in who ever died waking up in the real world. But Memory Zone Meme "Something Unto Death" acts differently and causes a "spiritual death" as Sunday calls it.
