The big takeaway is to keep my wrist arched and to pronate the thumb and index to sustain sound in the upper half of the bow.

I struggle with shoulder pain, especially when I play on the A string. What exercise or practice tips would you recommend to alleviate this. Thank you so much, your videos are so informative and helpful to my practice!

Often shoulder pain comes from a rotated sitting position when playing on the A string. Start sitting “neutral”, like playing on the G string, now place your hand in 1th position on that string and move it slowly towards the A string without rotating your back. In this position your wrist will be a little higher, relax the left shoulder and the elbow while keeping this”bridge form”. Now play on the A string while concentrating on a relaxed left shoulder. Good luck!
