This season is such a girl power season. I loved seeing Penelope come into her own, take accountability and step into the light as the brilliant writer and business woman that she is. Absolutely incredible work by the screenwriters and actors on this season. I enjoyed every minute of this season. 🤩

I loved every moment of the wedding scene, the small details really sold the experience and the blending of these two families. Such a great time for the costume designers I am sure. To be able to literally weave the story into the clothing.

While the dress itself is the palest pink, the train behind is the palest yellow… SO pale, you have to blink a few times to really notice the subtle differences! Because both colours are in the warm white spectrum, they seem to work perfectly together! It’s also incredibly symbolic (especially now that we understand that the Bridgerton costume designers were BIG on symbolic meaning): it’s like Penelope is walking away from/stepping out of the old Penelope with the yellow in her train… and stepping into/embracing the new Penelope with the pink in the dress.

She’s such a comfort to me and was a HUGE part of my cinematic childhood with movies like The Sound of Music, Mary Poppins and the Princess Diaries. I couldn’t agree more. Penelope standing on her own and up for herself was personal to her. She kept telling Colin throughout part 2 that she didn’t need him to save her and that she had this. Not sure if it’s the nature of the romance lover to expect the men to be knights in shining armor but Colin listened to his wife and gave her the space to be Penelope and to figure it out on her own. It was indeed brilliant. Not all men need to be the knight in shining armor for their women. To quote the Cheetah Girls, some of us would “rather rescue ourselves”. 💁🏾‍♀️

This is so true! I loved seeing the extended Bridgerton-Featherington families at the end of the season. And with Pen and Colin producing the heir my heart was so full. Penelope REALLY saved her family in so many ways this season and elevated the Bridgerton family in so many ways too.

These were all of my favorite elements of this season too! Penelope really found her love match and he reciprocates his love which is EVERYTHING! I also loved that Eloise and Pen made up. And that Agatha and Violet kind of got to “talk” about her affair with her father. How messy though. 🤭

I think in leaving people wanting more is necessary in shows. It makes you talk about it more for years to come. Perfect example, people hatred the ending of Titanic with the 🚪 but we still talk about the movie to this day. I must admit that I have not watched many other reviews or reactions this season because it was my first time reacting to "Bridgerton". People are entitled to their own opinions but I wonder if they are swayed by the opinions of others. I filmed the first half in one day and got to work the following Monday where everyone was saying they didn't like the first half. I was beaming with excitement and could not wait to share my delight for the first half. While I allowed them to live in their negativity, I did not let it sway my joy for this season. I spoke about it with the same radiant smile I have in my videos. It is important to go into things with a clear mind and low expectations. No outside opinions necessary. Authenticity is the key. I am not afraid to be myself on and off camera. If I LOVE something, I will scream it out-loud. Lol!

Watching it I could feel the little girls crush on him. It really took me back to my own childhood. Such an innocent love. And her thinking she didn't mean as much to him as he does to her. But later when you hear his story, my brain backtracks the story and all of a sudden you see events through his eyes. She always meant the world to him. And when they interact as adults their childhood echos through. Like when he carried a drunk her on his back, as a child he carried her on his back when she got hurt. It gives the interactions layers cause not only is he taking care of her when she was drunk and vuln*rable, but also the echo made me remember he has been taking care of her throughout her life. Somethings never change. Their love is very healthy and stable, dependable. Also he is mister green flag. He doesn't need to say much cause his actions tell you how he feels and what his intent is. So the other boys who say and do all the classic things don't stand a chance cause he has been earning the browny points for years and is about to cash them in. @@JoiLouiseReacts hahaha true that. I agree. Although I do believe writing Benedict as Bi/Pansexual was a good choice, I also think his story this season could have been written a bit better. In fact I think they could have cut Tilly out as a character and just had him meet Paul instead. My idea would be that Benedict isn’t getting anywhere with his artwork, so he stops painting and becomes depressed this season. We’re so used to him smiling and joking that it would be very noticeable that something is amiss. That’s when he meets Paul, another creative who not only helps Benedict find inspiration for his artwork, but helps him discover his sexuality as well. Of course Paul wouldn’t have to be the person Benedict falls in love with during his season, but Paul’s character would serve as a good way to introduce Benedict’s sexuality to the world of Bridgerton. That way him potentially falling in love with a man during his season wouldn’t be coming out of left field.

I second this emotion. I didn’t love Tilly but did like the idea of a Paul. Tilly would have been better suited as an attack on the family fortune or something like that but to watch her exterior crumble under “love” was a let down. Like, we also never saw Paul again 😫 like, come on!

But people are allowed to draw their own conclusions, it’s what makes us authentic and different as human beings. That’s what makes this show such a success. Regardless of how people feel about the leads, they’re still watching. 🥰 I agree with you that we should not compare the leads of these shows to each other because they are intended to be different. Also because Penelope Bridgerton (the Diamond) is incomparable. 🤭 I am one who does my very best not to compare and fell in love with the character Penelope because of the similarities I draw from my own life experiences. The fake lemonade stand the scene when they laugh together at the ball when he yokes let’s gallop along the first kiss the dancing in the church they love dancing together the wedding when she stops walking and they make eye contact and he nods and reassures her the carriage scene. There’s a moment I keep playing back that’s when Colin says I will not stand for someone blackmailing my wife and Penelope says that is kind Colin and she looks down and says but I can pay her and how shocked they are that she made that much money ( girl boss moment) when he stands up to her mother I keep replaying that one too

Mmmmmm…I can agree with this. There was no real counsel for engaged couples. Especially when their parents saw Pen and Colin were at odds. I mean, they sent Kate and Anthony to speak to Colin but who REALLY spoke to them as a couple. Who got them through this rough patch? It was hard to speak to anyone without revealing the truth of LW. I too wished they’d married under better circumstances.

I agree no one should get married with misunderstanding but again we have to remember that book pen never talked badly about the bridgertons badly in her column. The only thing she ever wrote was how charming Colin was and that's all he was mad about. Show Colin has to deal with being outed out to the whole ton with the marina situation, Eloise scandal, debling fellow plus the Queen. Again I believed they played it out for the drama. The protagonists always have to be at odds 😅

@JoiLouiseReacts the last episode just made me laugh. The second colin walked into that bedroom and spotted his wife. She knows she has that man whipped. She said nothing, did nothing. It was very "the decision is yours, look at me, I think I made my point, what will it be boy?". You just saw him think about caving for a second but stuck to his decision. Which was funny cause he is just t*rmenting himself at this point. Pen did nothing, said nothing, yet she is winning this argument cause the man is hooked and she knows it. The first morning she walked out worried and let him be cranky at her. Second morning she had a great night sleep knowing he is t^rmenting himself on the fun sofa. She walked out like "good morning, how did you sleep?, me fantastic good sleep good morning". 🤣 She turned the tables and left him alone like he did to her the day before. 😂 What he doesn't realise is she is used to colin not being into her for years. Colin on the other hand didn't make it 2 weeks ever since they kissed. She can hold out a h^ck of a lot longer than he can. 🤣

Hi, Elizabeth! Thank you so much for being here. I completely understand what you’re saying. But I also believe the writers wanted Pen to be the hero of her own story. Colin was simply follow g her request. She didn’t want him to save her. She for once feels empowered and does want to rely on her husband to fight her battles or correct her wrongs. I do think we missed out on SO MANY Polin scenes this season. There were so many other plots and couples this year. I hope we get more of Polin next season. Even just a little bit.

I agree! And I think Cressida felt this way too. There should have been a better ending between the three this season. Her mother just has her claws in her too deeply. I felt for her by the last episode. Hope this doesn’t harden her further.

By far the BEST season so far. I can understand being upset and needed it your space when dealing with disagreements and disappointment in a relationship. I don’t believe Colin ever had the idea to NOT marry Pen. He was just hurt and that is valid. I am so happy they finally got to start their love story and I can not wait to see them in future seasons. 🥰

I've never been a Peneloise shipper, but this season truly made me Wonder If her feelings for Penelope are completely platonic. There is a Lot of subtext and parallels between Colin's feelings for Penelope and Eloise's. Like, Colin saying that Eloise is Lucky she never Fell in love. And Eloise Just looks at him, like she herself is wondering. Then, at the wedding she is happy for them, but she also seems melancholic, so much so that Benedict (the stablished queer character) talks to her, implying that Colin is her favourite brother and that Her friendship with Penelope is a 'Lucky' thing, and that love is not finite. Then she looks longinly at Pen and cryies again. After that, she decides to Go to Scotland. Isn't funny that at the end of the previous seasons It's always Colin that goes away looking for purpose and the minute Penelope marries she decides to go and Colin is the one staying? I think in a way Penelope and her being 'spinsters' together was her purpose and she Lost It. But this IS Just me rambling. If you ever rewatch S3, Just entertain that possibility, It is só interesting to see Eloise's actions in this new light.

Hi, fellow cancer! I feel you, sometimes people don't deserve empathy or pity when they are nasty. My favorite part of the season would have to be seeing Penelope was the one to produce the next Lord Featherington. It warmed my heart and was an undeniable win for her and the family! I have not listened to Tori Kelly in YEARS, I used to love her music, I am not sure why I stopped listening to her.

Thank you so much! You know, I’ve never seen Pride & Prejudice (the movie or mini series) but I have seen Bride and Prejudice with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. I assume the plots are the same. But I LOVE Bollywood movies and was drawn to this version of the story first.

Benedict is not queer in the books so this is a whole new direction for the show. I am interested to see how his love story will play out. Will they have him be openly bi in the series? How will this play out in their time?

I’m actually curious too and I’m excited to see where his story goes because in the 1800s that’s a really hard time to be in. but i do hope he find some one a little similar to him (in the bed room). i do hope lady Bridgerton she does be supportive him but I also want her to be a little standoffish so she could feel conflicted but come to terms with it

You know, I did miss this at first. I feel like her reaction was a little heard to read. Unlike other Briderton's that have had that love at first site moment. Fran didn't seem to really display this, she looked more confused than enamored to me. But I am interested to see where this goes!

@@JoiLouiseReacts that is a great observation - I read it as confused gay panic - when your body is all - "wow this person is hot" but your mind can't comprehend it because it is not a societally sanctioned attraction. Lol! You're so right! Nicola is GORGEOUS! I think Violet's conversation with Colin really stuck with him, you know the one about rusting armor? If he keeps it on for too long, it would be hard to take off. Also, when you love a person and they have both apologized and are trying their best to do better and change, you'd only be a fool to remain angry.

@@JoiLouiseReactsi think colin didn’t sleep with her is because he sees it as a emotional connection between them and would not feel right to do so if he feels angry at that moment but he still wanted to be close to her the sofa is still apart of their bedroom and the house has multiple rooms but he slept on a uncomfortable couch and stayed close to her you could argue that he was worried about the servants talking but i don't think he would care about that i think that he feels a lot of emotions he is angry jealous and feels guilty and ashamed about that he feels not worthy and insecure if look at the others season his family made him feel that as well never taking him seriously telling him he talks to much about his travels and history of places his been while you can see clearly his very passionate about that like Colin said to Penelope she the only one who has seen him clearly and really appreciate him

@@darla1204 I agree with you - BUT, my issue is that the writers didn’t allow them to work out their problems before getting married. The Queen literally crashed their wedding; and what does Colin do? He abandons her “metaphorically” on their wedding night to sleep on a sofa because she won’t give up her dream; he mind as well just left her on the altar. It’s like a couple that gets married without having the talk about children; one wants lots while the other don’t want them. The show could have saved Colin if they wrote a scene where they finally communicate with each other on their wedding night like Daphne and Simone did. I wanted Penelope to read him his rights so bad and drag him for fifth because a person can’t spend the rest of their lives apologizing.

To be honest I fast forward the other stories to capture the essence of Pen and Colin romancing. They could have done more pining for Colin, flashbacks of them as youngsters, more plots for them only or links to their season alone ie LW, a friendship with Madam Delacroix aka girl power while Pen and Eloise were adrift and delving deeper into Colin’s character while building up Polin 😢 but we will take what we got haha ❤

I don't think that's fair. Saying that he loves her enough to marry her doesn't mean he doesn't still have the right to feel his feelings. He's saying he loves her enough to work through it, but working through it can still take some time.

It take people a while to get over their egos. His pride was wounded to know that his wife (outside of societal limitations) did not need him. She was fully capable of making her own money, was smart and resourceful as well. His ego was what needed to catch up with his heart.

That was definitely part of it, but he is also dealing with remnants of what happened with Marina in season 1, and what must have felt like echoes of that in this situation- finding out that the woman he loved had been keeping important secrets from him, and feeling like he'd been a fool and everyone knew it but him. And on top of that, feeling like he isn't worthy of her, because it's been ingrained in him that he has to DO something to earn love (whether that's to protect or provide, or prove himself in some other way), and she doesn't need him that way. He's obviously wrong about that, but why can we let Penelope learn to love herself, but we have no grace for Colin making the same journey? We just expect him to get over it and berate him for not doing it fast enough.

Colin is dealing with all his own issues, including the emotional scarring of his experience with Marina in Season 1, which has echoes in this situation with Penelope, very low self-worth, and feeling like he has to DO something to be worthy of love, which is why he is so troubled by the fact that Penelope doesn't need him in that way- not just a fragile male ego, but a genuine feeling that he doesn't deserve her love if he isn't providing for/protecting her, or proving himself in some other way. I just don't understand why we can have sympathy for Penelope learning to love herself in this season, but we can't extend any grace to Colin making the same journey in his own way. We just expect him to get over it, and berate him for not doing it fast enough. It's not all about him, but it's not all about Penelope, either. All Colin needs is just a few days to think things through and figure out what's really going on in his head/heart. That really doesn't seem like much to ask- honestly, it shows incredible maturity that he was able to work through it all in such a short amount of time, and immediately own up to it. It took Simon and Anthony an entire season each to work through their shit, and Colin managed it with a few days of self-reflection

I have seen many people call this out as well. Apparently Colin stands with her in the book. I can appreciate the series not taking a cover to cover approach. On the heels of movies like BARBIE, women are more and more shown as being their own saviors. I mean for so many of us, there has NEVER been anyone to step in and stand with us. I think it makes sense for Penelope to be both her own and the Featherington savior this season. It made me proud as a woman to experience it. And for the child she creates with the man of her dreams to be the next Lord of the house. Pen is a BOSS!

Very interesting perspective. I didn’t quite see it this way. I believe that loving your wife and respecting her for being what you aspire to be shows great growth and strength on Colin’s part. He was jealous of her success and was able to admit it. I believe that marriage should be a collaborative effort. And to be honest, by the end of this season I don’t think Colin has ever looked stronger. He’s sure of himself and not pretending to be someone he’s not. He’s a lover boy, sensitive and has deep emotions. Every good writer should have an editor or someone to review their work. Is he weak because that person is an accomplished writer that just so happens to be his wife? When you’re married, your spouse is supposed to support and lift you up, Colin is not weak for leaning on his wife’s greatest strengths to guide him as he begins his journey to be an author. He’s super smart. 😉

Lady Danbury is life goals! Honestly...Cressida, Eloise and Penelope all looked up to her and wanted to end up like her to an extent. Lol! SAME!
