To artists like me that was scared of AI, don't buy into the fear mongering, what you should be concerned about is your own work. A person typing prompts into this machine and getting good results will never be able to feel the same joy you feel when working on a piece for days on end. Nothing will compare to the catharsis of painting, drawing and inking something YOU made.

As an artist, I've come to find through my experiences in experimenting with various AI image generators that we're not going to be replaced. Of course, an AI can generate a lot of beautiful images, some that a fair number of people might not have thought to draw or create. It's good for bringing some ideas to life, things that an AI can visualize quite easily; at the end of the day, however, the AI doesn't think the way most artists do. The things AI create are absolutely impressive, as is the technology, but there's some things it can't create. I think to all the character designs and the concept art for items in games, I think of the oddly specific details that a person would want a sea-fairing cargo ship that can also travel in space to have. Rather than seeing AI generated art, I believe it can be used as a tool in the future. Have an AI create an image that can be refined or reworked to be what a person needs, or give someone ideas to create something else entirely on their own. If one day AI truly replaces all artists, down to the weird and unusual things many of us can come up with in our minds, I'll eat my sketchbook.

yo moist, the comic book idea at the beginning can go like this: you askanother AI to give you a storyboard, perhaps the idea for the storyboard can be autogen too, make sure it's specific in terms of how the characters react so you can translate that into the art, take camera angles into account, and for what they say you put more autogenerated speech (the speech bubbles themselves are probably going to be from you, but the words inside will be AI) and that should be about it, idk if this would work but it's an idea

My designer professor and everyone around me hates, well it is an art and design college after all. He said “it looks good on the first glance, that itself is terrifying, although when going in to the details, it starting to break apart, and it is soul-less.” Still I think it has potential, it just needs more time.

I personally find procedural art more powerful than ai. The problem with ai art is it can only observe images rather than techniques so at the end of the day it ultimately splices finished images together in a massive collage of pieces of images and filters until it gets results you think are desirable. However procedural art is programmed as a process rather than a collage of final results. So a well made substance designer, houdini or blender tool will always be stronger than ai which cannot have knowledge of the actual processes that go behind art. This is why game studios use procedural modeling techniques in every workflow as well, if you need to come up with a million variations of fences in houdini you can do it by programming that fence in a way a million variations are possible and no matter how you tweak the variables every single fence will look good. With ai you might be able to get a million fences but it will take a while to find enough in the same style. Since procedural models take at most 2 seconds to generate and have millions of variations all guaranteed to match the style and look decent it is drastically superior. Ai still has a place, as ai is better for people to get inspiration. But if you want to create a million variations of something quickly and guarantee good results every single time, ai isn't capable of doing what preprogrammed modular geometry or procedural geometry is capable of doing already and much easier on cpu and gpu hardware.

Watching this made me learn that if you wanted good images you need to focus more on like artist, and types of illustrations rather then just placing down nouns. As he said it's more focused on landscape rather then verbs. Maybe it'll get there one day.

With MidJourney you can send it a link to a PNG and then follow it up with a prompt. Even add modifier tags to have the ai weigh the image more than the prompt or the prompt more than the image

AI Art should be used for forensic sketches and there should be a website people can go to when they report a crime they can be able to describe the person they saw do it and get a sketch or multiple sketches generated by the AI or unidentified persons. Stuff they already do but probably not with AI. Even if they do though, something like this for the general public.

I tried midjourney just a couple of minutes ago for inspiration for a scale model, it gives a bit more "displate" style results. Sometimes it's very good at very detailed and specific requests, other times it really sucks. I tried to query something warhammer 40k related and "a man looking at the death star in orbit" and both really sucked. "The death of a god" and "machine god" gave very cool results though.

you know as an artist I think this really eliminates our own need to problem solve and find the best way to reach the final artwork on our own, there's nothing like seeing a blank canvas and the satisfaction you get from putting the artwork on it from your own skill. The fact that it takes away our need to solve problems just seems like our brains will stagnate and be overly reliant on AI for everything and as a member of gen z we've de-evolved enough already

I like to compare AI art to the camera. A camera can take perfect pictures of real life and yet realism painting still exists because people still want to do it and people still want to buy it. Maybe we might a something new with AI art because with the camera some artists started to do other things like impressionist artworks that are more based on emotion

I saw the last vid on this channel about the ai art, so I tried it and I've been really impressed by my little experiments. We live in the future.

From what I played with, it can't really give me exactly what I want so i think i'll stay with human artists for a while. It can make cool pictures yeah but I want specifics and intricate details. The quality of the art doesn't matter much to me, all that matters is that my vision comes to fruition.

I downloaded an implementation of that Stable Diffusion system and have been playing around with it and omg, the results are wild. I never thought a computer could generate such cool art

Also, the site shown here, isn’t finished. The link on it says “beta” at the beginning, so ai art is only going to get better and better over the years, and very quickly too.

i notice a lot of people use beksinski in their descriptions which is awesome. beksinski is my favorite artist and im sure almost everyone has seen one of his artworks perhaps without realizing it.

I tried Spiderman vs. MasterChief... one picture was an fusion of body parts, one was them together(though MasterChief looked like a limited memory version), and it gave me 3 Spiderman shooting a web. Actions are difficult.

As an artist myself I knew from a young age that the market was over-saturated. A lot of people don’t understand that the art market has already been falling apart. Most of the rising artists weren’t going to have a chance anyways. In this day and age you can’t have a full job just doing art unless you’re lucky. It’s best as a second job unless you are going into specific fields but even then competition is fierce. I honestly think this will slim the numbers for a while and help the market stabilize. Ai can do a lot but I doubt it’s direct communication with a client. For it is not just an instruction it is an artistic vision that an ai must grab. So while I feel like ai art will replace certain jobs there will always be a need for human artists for specific qualities. And actually traditional art might be on the rise again now. Digital art has dominated for a while. I’m honestly interested in the future.

Ai art just looks good and realistic but the only big difference when it draws a character it doesn’t look its human idk but i absolutely still can see the difference between normal art and ai art

I feel like I could watch this shit all day. Also it looks like the AI works well with buzzwords for themes or concepts. Like cyberpunk. Or samurai. It seemed to catch a lot of those easily and used them to apply a generalized theme.

AI art is perfect for soooo many things; avatars, posters, promotional, thumbnails, and just aboot everything that isn't a realistic interpret of your company/self (unless you are an otter wizard).

It's sad that even creativity is being automated so companies can save money on artists/ creatives. Additionally, it feels like some people who are gloating about how artists will be replaced are just doing so because they think artists should get a 'normal' job too, like they did themselves.

Animators went through this with Dain interpolation AI... and in between animators are still kicking it with the help of A.I. Artists have nothing to worry about

One thing u gotta remember is that this isint like machines replacing labor jobs. Art is a hobby and for enjoyment and self improvement, while most labor jobs are simpluy just required for sicietal function rather than enjoyable.
