I think there were like 8,000 Unsullied at the beginning of the series when they first appear and they have multiple battles and then the long night happens and most of them are killed. And literally all the Dothraki are killed during the long night except for like five to ten of them. And these are non-replenishable amies. There are no more Dothraki and Unsullied because they don't recruit new people into their ranks. So how tf are there like 900 million of them in the season finale?

I still can't believe they turned Dany into this callous, ruthless, irredeemable villain only to have Jon kill her off almost instantly, facing no obstacles and no meaningful repercussions. It's kinda like how they built up Cersei's armies and the threat of the Golden Company only to have Daenerys wipe them out in five minutes. Or how they built up the Night King and the army of the dead only for them to be defeated in one episode, with almost all of the main cast surviving. It's almost as if D&D have no concept of set-up and payoff.

We just spent 8 seasons fighting over who would be king. They decide within 2 minutes with no bloodshed or even a raised voice... ummmmmmmmmmm

He made a valid point... Gordon Ramsay should be the king! Really, though, loved and respected by the common folk, respected and feared by those who work for him, accustomed to walking into a dumpster fire and trying to turn it around... He would lead Westeros well.

Here's my thoughts on the last series and the biggest problem with it... First up, I've nothing against the producers, artists, actors, set builders, cgi...the show has been superb from that point of view. The problem I have, like many others, is with the plot. There are several stories that have been playing out since Episode 1 and are the same plots and storylines that we have become so emotionally invested in during the past 8 years, that ultimately, were not fulfilled by Season 8 or the ending. Since Episode 1, our emotional investment has been with the Starks. From the moment we saw Ned Stark get betrayed and decapitated, we all wanted revenge on the Lannisters in any shape or form and the show built up that feeling over time. We got 'mini-revenge' in parts, in slow, winding story lines that played out superbly over the course of several seasons. But that big one, the ultimate 'set the story straight', to see justice done to the Straks never materialised. It was one of the shows main pulls, we all wanted Ayra to get revenge, we all wanted Sansa to finally escape her tormentors and we all wanted Jon to finally reveal his true identity. Some of these happened, some didn't. Roll on 8 years and that same emotional investment is still bubbling away under the surface, despite side attractions like Daenerys, the dragons and the Red Witch throwing their hats into the arena. What still burned deep was wanting the main plot to the story played out how we all thought, and led to believe, it would be. Plots were plenty, but ultimately weren't fulfilled. Cersei was an evil bitch that for several seasons, kept the whole thing going from Episode 1. And yet we weren't treated to her demise in the way we shouldn't have been (a few bricks). Having watched Ayra grow from a little girl to a young woman who was taught how to be an assassin, it ultimately fizzled out. Once she killed the Night King, she was pretty much done and dusted and we didn't get the Cersei killing we had been building up to. Jons identity was the back bone of the entire series (Ned Stark protecting this fact from Season 1) and yet even when it was finally revealed a few episodes ago, it again, just fizzled out. In the last episode, after doing everything Tyrion, Sansa, Ayra and a few others wanted i.e: killing Daenerys, he was banished as if the whole storyline of him being the rightful heir to the throne never existed. Literally, in 5 minutes everyone forgot about it. And yet, as the rightful heir to the throne, that made him the King, so why was he banished? He hadn't actually killed the Queen, because at that point, Daenerys, was nothing more than a 'self-proclaimed' Queen. She hadn't been sworn in by anyone. She had supporters but it wasn't official. What was official and in writing, was that Jon WAS the King and rightful heir to the Iron Throne. When Robert Barrathion killed the Mad King, did they banish Robert to the Wall for treason? No, he was simply made King and the whole storyline followed. Jon Snows storyline makes no sense whatsoever. When Tyrion was marched out of prison before a group of people, (who put them in charge?) Why did they go along with Jon being in prison when most of them knew he was the real King? Bran, Sansa, Ayra...all just accepted his fate. It was if they all had amnesia, like 'thanks for what you have done...but you can fuck off back to the Wall now..cheerio'. Sansa even made the point to Jon when he said his goodbyes that (sending him to the Wall) "was the best deal she could get"..eh? He's accepted as King of the North...he's accepted as the heir to the Iron Throne..he's done everything and more to free the people of Westeros but then treated as if he was a bit part player. It was if he, overnight, turned into Gendry. Nothing made any sense in the final season with regards the main plot line. Its as if Jons whole story arc didn't count for anything in the end, even to the other main characters themselves. It was completely off. A shows ratings and success only happens because of one thing, the fans. Without the fans, a show doesn't get air time. Without air time, a show doesn't feature advertising. Without advertising, HBO doesn't exist...actors don't get paid, shows don't get made. So when actors and other celebrities come out of the woodwork defending the negative reaction from the fans, (the same fans who they cosy up to), they need to stop and realise who they are talking to. Its the fans who make actors successful, not the other way round. So if the fans feel aggrieved, they probably have a point. Season 8 and in particular, the ending, especially regarding Jon Snow, just didn't fulfil its own destiny. The Starks never really got revenge. Sansa became Queen of the North mainly thanks to Jon and his actions. Ayra never got her revenge on the Lannisters after watching her dad get decapitated and Jon never became the one true King we were all led to believe would happen and should have happened. These are just a handful of loose ends I could point out, but ultimately, the show that nurtured your emotional investment from episode 1 across several seasons, to what should have been your emotional release, pulled the rug from under our feet and gave us a consolation prize instead.

You could argue from the point of view of the books that it makes sense Bran would be king. The first book opens on Bran's perspective, and Bran's story, in the books, is about the mythical underpinnings of the world. But the writers of the show deliberately downplay the Fantasy element of this show and therefore turned Bran into a fucking fart vapor in the background starting with when they just left him out of season 5 because they obviously don't like the character, and then getting worse and worse. And then George probably told them "yea I'm making Bran King". Bran is one of the best characters in the books.

The problem with critiques about how awful this season was is it falls on deaf ears. D and D said in an interview that they dont care about the criticism because they made a show they want to watch. A true middle finger to the fans!

Little do we know, the Night King was keeping us away from Season 8.

My favourite part was when Tyrion goes to find Jaime and Cersei in the rubble, and when he finds them and moves away all the rubble, their skulls are completely intact, and faces completely unharmed with not a single broken bone, after being crushed under a massive falling stone ceiling.

What happened was this. The producers of GoT were slated to develop a new Star Wars trilogy after GoT. They did they 8th season as fast and furious as they could, not giving a shit about properly ending the existential crisis that is the Night King and White Walkers posed with a previous 7 seasons of build up to end as anticlimacticly as possible. Then to have Queen Daenerys I Targaryen just instantaneously become needlessly cruel and vindictive towards the peasants of Kings Landing in the sacking thereof was just completely out of character and clumsily forced... just another example of some hot shot show runners getting impatient to just quickly end a great show. Well they got their wish, the show ended quickly, and was so bad that the Disney folk were like," umm yeah never mind, you're cancelled!" And now they don't have a lucrative trilogy in the works, and a poorly ended show to show for it. Oh and as a cherry on top of a steamy pile, George R.R. Martin is so contrary a man that he will literally do any number of other projects other than the next 2 books to this series. Ya know cuz double-f@ck the loyal fans in their collective asses!
