@Ben Bateman Yeah, I was thinking he should've said "Hey, if you can find out who I need to learn that from, I'll put as much ink on you as you want." Being a Toreador who isn't obsessed with tattoos herself, it would hardly be of any cost to Tom in time and effort. I'm sure Jason Carl realizes how new he is and will probably bring it up again or make getting that ability doable later, though. For a Kindred who cares so little about anything in the world, the storyteller has to have SOMETHING to encourage the players, and Tom gives the least of a damn of all of them. =p

So, in this episode, after the sculpture fell, I was half expecting Amanda to stand up, dust herself off, and scream "Daddy!" and run to him across the room, find him all bloody and punctured, cut to ribbons. I wonder how things would have been different, if she'd knelt beside him with the life draining out, and if she'd ripped open her own wrist with her teeth and fed him? Would she need a humanity check? Would that affect the connection he already had with his owner?

Looking at where that happened, I think Mr. Carl forgot Tom was at 0 hunger because that's sort of rare, with the killing thing. Suppose he assumed Tom was at 1 and would go to 2. And Mike just shrugged and went with it.

People often forget that since China is Kue-jin, not Kindred land the ratio doesn't paint an accurate picture, let alone most kindred are drawn to urban areas, which would throw the numbers even further off. Let alone if you work it out that way the Primogen position would be pointless since each would only be representing like 3-5 other people.

Shming Master Tom’s counter was wrong to begin with. He would only have a hunger of 0 if he had drank someone dry, otherwise you can only be at level 1. So hunger 2 is correct.

@@juliusweiss5447 He did do that, in their equivalent of an Episode 0. He alluded to it this episode, but it occurred in a bathroom in Montreal. Since all of them started at 0 hunger I'm thinking they did some sort of massacre that had to be covered up.

It's because vampires are all about status and power plays, and so is fashion often enough. That's why they focus on it so much. It's not that clothes makes the man, but rather that the clothes someone wears tells you many things about the person in question.

@@TheEnoEtile You are correct that I have never watched anything from Penny Arcade before, but was I expecting a super serious and angsty game? Not exactly. As I said in a comment on the first video of this series, I recognize that not every VtM game has to be soul-crushingly dark; I watch quite a few different VtM campaigns on KZfaq, and no two are exactly the same. The Chicago By Night campaign run by Near Dark Studios, for example, uses quite a bit of humour, but they find ways to work it into the game itself. In contrast, the players here, especially the two guys, go off on tangents that have little to nothing to do with the actual game, their characters, or advancing the story. It becomes annoying and honestly a bit grating. The characters themselves are interesting, the story (that which I am able to follow anyway) that is woven by Jason Carl is excellent, and the players of Amanda and Betty are rather good. I just have difficulty concentrating on the good when I am constantly being bombarded by irrelevant attempts at humour that I personally find to be more distracting than funny. It's just not to my personal taste.

@@liminal_entity1331 I mean that's Gabe (Mike) and Tycho (Jerry) it's kind of their thing. They're fucking around and this game is a venue in which to fuck around. They're not gonna take it very seriously and they're not gonna focus. But they are gonna get DMed by the best in the business. They have a draw beyond the game and the fanbase. That's why Jason Carl is DMing this and why Chris Perkins DMed their D&D campaign. Also the vast majority of the audience are most likely Penny Arcade fans who came to watch Jerry and Mike fuck around and would be disappointed if they didn't.

@@liminal_entity1331 and I'm not trying to gatekeep. Penny arcade is great. Its predominantly a webcomic as well as the company that hosts one of (if not the) largest gaming conventions in the world, and a children's chairty. And they had a couple of fairly popular D&D campaigns. It might help to look at some of their other work to get a handle on the tone and style they're going to go for.

Honestly it's a roller coaster of fuckery, they get into it and let scenes breath when the tension ramps, but sometimes they step in and deflate the tension, no big deal its how their table works, LA By Night is almost 0 on side chatter and even out of character inquiries are handled quickly and back into the scene. Its not better or worse, just different, this is definitely more like home groups than LA by Night for sure. If the amount of side chatter were reduced about 20% it would probably be right where both VTM angst fans and PA fans would both be satisfied. Still I've gotten more interested each episode that goes by, they are finding a good stride.

The basic draw of the two guys is that they own a company/charity that they made themselves and have played with the lead story writer of wizards of the coast / dnd for over a decade, as well as cranking out a comedic webcomics twice a week. They've role played soo hard that they can basically only do meta commentary.

Krahulik can crack me up so there's always room for jello. but i like hearing a little about the flavor vision from enthusiasts. thx *after all they are playing, not acting out a story just for viewers, they're playing for themselves.
