Hello John I have checked with a couple of my metering prisms, and with both of them the needle sits just to the right of the black dot when the meter is turned off, so it sounds as though yours is working correctly. If the meter is giving the correct results, you don't need to change anything. If it consistently under or over-exposes (unusual), it is possible to calibrate it, but the easiest way is to make a new index mark for the film speed on the top dial.

eBay is usually the best place to look. cupog in Slovakia is a good vendor, in my experience, but there are also others. (I plan to upload two more videos on metering with this prism in the course of today.)

Hello, When my meter is turned off, the needle sits to the right of the black dot when viewing from the top and slightly below the black dot when viewing the inside of the meter... Should the need be centered when the meter is turned off? Thanks!!

Oquillia For this video, too, KZfaq won't let me "reply" to you. All Pentacon Sixes were supplied new with the same, standard focussing screen, for which you should use the triangular pointer on the meter as the index point for setting the film speed. Only the fresnel screen and the Rollei MKPG are brighter and use the dot index mark. All other screens use the triangle. See more about screens here: www.pentaconsix.com/screens.htm

Google's changed the reply procedure again! Can't see all of your message. To get speedy replies, best to contact me via my website, www.pentaconsix.com. To know what glass you have as a focussing screen, I recommend that you visit www.pentaconsix.com/screens.htm , where you will see pictures of all GDR and West German screens & a link to the Ukrainian (Kiev) screen. The GDR fresnel screen, the Rollei (West German) screen and the Kiev screen are all brighter and similar to each other in brightness. All the others have much darker light-transmission characteristics, approximately the same as each other.
