Unfortunately I don't speak English, but with the help of Mr. Google translator I can understand his magnificent saxophone classes. I started with the saxophone six months ago, I am 67 years old and thanks to your nice and rigorous lessons I am making progress and I feel happy. Thank you so much.

I am 45 years old and in my fourth month of studying alto saxophone. I have been following this channel since the beginning of my learning and it has been so helpful in orienting me and finding concepts, examples, method, perspectives and a lot of enthusiasm. Quality quality and more quality in your channel, dear Dr. Wallace. Greetings from Italy.

I played alto from 5th grade through high school and haven't touched it since, now 46 orbits. I was cleaning a friend's tenor for him, and it's the sound I've always wanted to make. I think this is the prime place to start

Worth mentioning that I slowed this down (using the YT tool top right gear icon) to keep up as I do find you very fast…. but at 0.75 speed and 0.5 I can keep up more easily so better for a beginner.

Hi I have a question about airflow stopping technique and I’m not sure if my habitual way of doing it is hurting my potential skill. So I know the standard way to stop the air flow in order to play single notes is to use the tip of the tongue on the reed to create an air plug and stop vibration, and then to continue the flow you just remove the tongue, so the air pressure is never paused. This approach is used because stopping and starting the air flow from your body is slower and tiring. However I find that I habitually don’t use the tongue to stop air flow, I instead sort of stop at the throat, kind of like if you’re whistling, if you want to make a quick succession of whistles you don’t use the tongue to cover your mouth hole, you just kind close up at your upper chest or throat and release it to whistle in quick succession. I’m wondering if this is ok or are there shortcoming compared to stopping flow with the tongue. I find that if I use the tongue then the stop start of notes in quick succession doesn’t sound as clean, whereas if I do it like I whistle then it sounds as clean as a whistle.
