Yep, the Pentatonix magic works again. I could listen to Mitch's section on a loop for hours :-) They also put their own spin on Oh Come All Ye Faithful, definitely worth checking out. Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy is simply amazing. I only discovered PTX a few months ago and I'm enjoying sharing your journey down the rabbit hole.

I love how the second part of the track reflected what genre of music they are most interested in....so clever with their attention to detail. Mitch is very much into EDM - Scott of course is Jazz/blues/crooner... KO is classical/church choral.... Kirstie is pop/dance...Matt plays drums...so of course KO is going to turn it into a 'band drumming masterclass'.... Loved spending another reaction with you - glad , as always that PTX managed to change your mind a little on not liking an otherwise boring song into something different and catchy !! X

I agree that 12 Days isn't the best Christmas song, but they knocked it out of the park!

1st of all....Christmas is my all time fave time of the year too! Now that being said, Mitch cracked me up on the 8th day and Scott took me out on the 12th! I came up out of my seat on that one! And I am like most Pentaholics and love anytime we're able to hear Kevin sing.

Yep, I feel the same as you do about The Twelve Days of Christmas (not least because I don't believe the original 'singer' did not look at their True Love at some point even BEFORE the seventh day and said "And where, exactly, am I supposed to PUT all this crap?") But again, Pentatonix managed to make it fun and cute all over again.

Great reaction. I happen to love this song and PTX just made it that much better. I don't know if you have reacted to "Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy" yet or not. If you haven't, you need to. You will enjoy that one and they did win a Grammy for it.

Like you, this is one Christmas song I didn't like, this and Oh Christmas Tree. But then I heard PTX's version and after I picked up my jaw from the floor, I couldn't stop listening to it!! PTX MAGIC!!

Got something for ya. I've never been fond of this song either.But this link will take us way back, beyond the current Matt PTX, back even before Avi PTX. Before Avi was snagged from college to join PTX for The Sing Off, he was a member of a few of his college's musical groups, including Chamber Choir. But he was also a member of Fermata Nowhere, the college's award-winning comedic (but also serious at times) male choral group. Their "12 Days of Christmas" was their most famous performance, and you'll see why. Watch for Avi right behind the guy who's talking, with longish hair and just a whisper of a beard (I mean, geez, he was only 19 at that time!). As fun as this is, my all-time favorite, “must watch” version is by Straight No Chaser. They first performed it back in 1998, but there are various versions floating around the internet. I highly recommend it. Also, their Christmas Can-Can. 😂 💃🏻

Yah, this is about my least favorite Christmas carol, kind of one long shaggy dog story but they manage to make it tolerable. Have to go back and listen to White Winter Hymnal and Oh Come, All Ye Faithful again...

It's normally a crap song. It certainly needed the Pentatonix treatment to stop sucking.
