They made this one with intention. They wanted to demonstrate how 5 people, from different backgrounds, cultures, religions, sexuality, "race", etc...can come together in harmony. And the sum is greater than the parts.

I agreed with MK. I think you really missed what PTX was conveying with this cover. Too much analysis took away from the meaning of the message.... especially for times like this.

Sorry that the video is a little out of sync. I filmed a bunch a while ago and that's why they have been a little weird. I have realized what the problem is and will try and fix it for future videos

I can only 'imagine' what your critique would've been if their audio had been out of sync with video. 🙄 Maybe something to consider before releasing content meant to analyze another's work.

Jacob, I always so enjoy your reactions, but I do think in this instance, your pauses during the “wall of sound” at the end meant that you really missed the overall impact of what they were doing technically, as well as emotionally. I’d encourage you in those moments to co spider a skip back to ensure you can fully appreciate it from those perspectives.

One of the major goals of vocal music is to convey emotion. It seems like your appreciation of that is not always demonstrated. For example when you stop the video in the middle of a buildup to make some comment. Or make no acknowledgement of the song's intention. There are stories out there that this was when Scott first came out as gay publically. Avi's religion and ethnic identity was never discussed except a couple of times in response to criticism about his participation in Christmas music. It was very personal for all the artists. It was also I believe the 2nd time that Kevin had sung. He came into Pentatonix as an instrumentalist and Avi taught him to sing in the beginning while they were roommates.

This is such a powerful performance and you hit on something I had not realized before. I was blown away by the richness of their harmonics and the huge emotional impact of the piece, but I had not previously realized that a good portion of that feeling came from the simplicity of their approach to the song, but you are so right! Richness, emotions, and SIMPLICITY combine to make this one of their most unforgettable and powerful performances. Thank you again for an excellent analysis. You always add to my understanding and appreciation of what PTX does.

This interpretation of Pentatonix is so surreal in beauty in phrasing, their voices, so mesmerizing, by their beauty, their many vocal colors totally in harmony, touch not only my whole heart, but my whole soul. A song, such as Mr. John LENON's IMAGINE, is simply more than a tribute, their originality in their search, conveys so many emotions, but a thank you to their author for having created such a beautiful masterpiece. The realization a capella is simply grandiose Presence of unfailing musicality. The intervention of a single instrument would have totally been overrated, would have destroyed the beautiful harmonics, the vocal heat that emerges is unmatched .sublime. It is impossible to find the right words that characterize what we have all just heard, voluptuousness, magnificence, out of time and above all the very beautiful and simple word inscribed on their LOVE card. What a wise choice, in a world that is sorely lacking at the moment, homophobia, xenophobia "Love not war". The COVID 19 pandemic, which is unfortunately currently taking place in many countries, of which mine is also part of it. Free violence, etc. Take well from you, protect yourself as much as possible! I believe the videos from PTX Classics all had the more rustic feel while the Top Pop had the more modern feel when they released the 2 albums in the same year. But it was a great pick up.

Don't forget to watch some of their originals. I'm sure you have a backlog of reactions already though. Also, take breaks too. I know you want to do as much as you can to grow this channel, but you don't want to burn yourself out by feeling like you need to post 6 videos a day.

I love music💕 and I enjoy your explanations of the musical engineering that you comment on. I used to sing. I even sang for Evensong in St. Peter's Basilica in the first non-Catholic choir to sing there. I was part of a quartet. The experience of a lifetime. I'm partially deaf now.

Sometimes a reactor gets so caught up in the technical aspects of what the singers are doing, the point of the song is lost. It became very obvious from the start that you are interested in your product, your course, so you stopped the video to show your technical knowledge and to get us to subscribe to your channel by the subscribe button popping up during the song. The message of the song seemed lost on you. What a shame!

The video you play does not sync with the vocals when we as viewers watch your video reaction. It's sort of weird on this end of your production, just so you know.
