Scott’s lead was tremendous in this, but the Matt/Mitch harmonies give me chills every time. Loved that Kevin got to sing in this one.

I just love this version and it hit's me to the core. Notice when Kirsten sings her lines of her dying dreams being the best she's ever had, there's a slight grin at best (as if it's a good memory) then a sly knowing sadness at the irony of that. What an actress along with master singer.

Life used to be so simple. When I was growning up.... I never once questioned my parents income. We didn't eat a lot of fast food because it was considered a treat, not a food group. We drank Kool-Aid made from water that came from our kitchen sink with real sugar. We ate bologna sandwiches, or even tuna (which was in a can not a pouch), PB&J & grilled cheese sandwiches, hot dogs, but mostly homemade meals consisting of meat, potatoes, vegetables and rice and beans. We grew up during a time when we mowed lawns, pulled weeds, babysat, helped neighbors with chores to be able to earn our own money. We went outside a lot to play, ride bikes, run with friends, play hide and seek, or went swimming. We rarely just sat inside. We drank tap water from the water hose outside, bottled water was unheard of. If we had a coke, it was in a glass bottle, and we didn’t break the bottle when finished. We saved it and cashed it back in at the store for a refund. We watched TV shows like Good Times, The Jefferson’s, Bonanza, Alf, Different Strokes, Leave It To Beaver, Gilligan's Island, Happy Days, I Dream of Jeannie,!Bewitched, The Brady Bunch, What’s Happening, The Rifleman, Looney Tunes, The Flintstones, The Cosby Show, The Jetsons, Sanford and Son, Dukes of Hazzard, Star Trek and I Love Lucy. After school, we came home and did homework and chores, before going outside or having friends over. We would ride our bikes for hours. We had to tell our parents where we were going, who we were going with, and be home when the street lights came on! You LEARNED from your parents instead of disrespecting them, and treating them as if they knew absolutely nothing. What they said was LAW, and you did not question it, and you had better know it!!! We watched what we said around our elders because we knew if we DISRESPECTED any grown-up we would get our behinds whipped, it wasn't called abuse, it was called discipline! We held doors, carried groceries, and gave up our seat for an older person without being asked. You didn't hear curse words on the radio in songs or TV, and if you cursed and got caught, you better run! (especially if any of the neighbors had a complaint about your behavior! Yeap... Run! “Please", "Thank you", "Yes please", "No thank you", "Yes ma'am", "No ma'am" "Yes sir", and "No sir" were part of our daily vocabulary! Sigh... So unlike the world we live today... I will never forget where I came from and only wish children now a days had half the chance at the fun and respect for real life we grew up with! And we were never bored!!! Those were GREAT times!!!

Love what you said about April fool's and how you couldn't do it. That is a true tribute to PTX. This song was put out when we were barely out of lockdown but it still wasn't safe to be around another person yet. We truly were in a very Mad World, which is why this song was so appropriate.

This is an incredible performance. Tears for fears is the original singers for this song but theirs is more upbeat then the way the covers have been done. You said you only have 100 songs left, have you done their sing off performances ?

You could do their sing off performances, it’s truly amazing to watch their journey, gelling as a new group (Avi and Kevin joined right before the competition). Plus there are a lot of behind the scenes fun video series capturing their early concerts tours called PTXperience. You really get to know their personalities this way. 👍🏻

It's a shame on me that I chuckled when you said that Mitch can Will Smith you. That's a new way to say Mitch slapped. You said that there isn't a bad video out there. Um, I disagree. They did one I don't like. It's from their sing off journey. You really need to check it out. Watch it from the beginning and finish it up with the newest sing off Christmas video. Include the judges comments and the finale of season 4. You will see the original pentaholic and the original Mitch slap. Totally worth it.

Original was in the 80's by Tears for Fears. Slightly upbeat. The one most recognize is closer to this in tone & pace on the Donnie Darko soundtrack. PTX's is of course a double upgrade lol.
