This is purely acapella guys , if Pentatonix use an instrument then you'll see it being played . Kevin is a world class cellist & among the top 20 beatboxer's in the world. He plays cello and beatboxes at the same time in their live Vevo performance of Seal's 'Kiss From A Rose' which I recommend you watch next. Kevin's vocal percussion and Matt's deep bass and the harmonies of all five is all you're hearing . Merry Christmas !

My granddaughter got me hooked on them with Hallelujah. Once I watched Sound of Silence, I knew I’d keep up-to-date with all new ones. I’m too old to understand (73) Daft Punk but it was very entertaining. She can’t believe how much I know about them (even more than her). This version of O Holy Night is incredible. Mormon Tabernacle choir’s version is now in 2nd place to me. Hope it grabs a Grammy. Definitely worth it.

Yes, Pentatonix is after the Pentatonic Scale (a musical scale that has five notes per octave). The word "penta" means five, and there are 5 of them in the group. So Scott change the last letter to make it unique.

Great reaction guys! You still need headphones 🎧 when listening to PTX or any music. I wish the one guy wasn't talking over the video at the end where it was the most important part of the song. Penta means 5. Pentatonic scale is a five note music scale used for any instrument. So Pentatonix is 5 equal voices

You're got to fix the audio on the Music. I don't know if y'all are using headphones or not but if you're not that is a big shame. It makes my belly hurt when I see people listening to Pentatonix without headphones

The 5-part tonic harmony is definitely what they based their name on. Suggestions: stop the recording whenyou want to comment; don’t talk over it. Then back it up a couple of seconds before restarting.. Pentaholics are perfectly fine with the stopping and starting, but not the disrespect of talking over them singing.
